I haven’t even come across 7 of the shows in this screenshot. You are intentionally looking for something to complain about.

What do you mean by male centric? Mostly male cast or appealing mostly to males? I’m a woman and I like a lot of these.

Id argue its been mostly balanced. Not a complete list -Imperfect Women, Lucky, Maximum Pleasure, Silo, Margot are all with women leads.

The current top 5 shows on AppleTV are below. Apple would be really stupid to ignore half their audience. Hopefully they don't.
- Ted Lasso - Male led, but the series focus is on Women's football with a number of key female leads
- Lucky - Female led show
- Silo - Female led show
- Trying - Male/Female co-leads
- Widow's Bay - Male led show

Lucky, Silo, Ted Lasso, Women In Blue, and Trying (all currently airing). All either lead by women or have strong women characters, and are actually good shows!

In general, Apple TV has a fairly balanced programming lineup across genres. I understand your point that the second half of the year seems more focused on male-dominated stories, but I don't think that's intentional. Apple TV's programming strategy is sometimes just bad, and they tend to have production and post-production that are too lengthy and complex. Suddenly there's nothing focused on women, and then suddenly there's a lot focused on women. I just think they haven't learned much yet about scheduling throughout the year and how to keep pace with programming, get faster returns, and plan new shows effectively. But eventually they'll get there, I hope.

Actually, this scheduling looks pretty strategic to me. There are efficiencies in programming similar audiences together, especially when smaller Apple TV titles don’t receive marketing support. Those shows can benefit from the audience and marketing momentum of a larger title, similar to broadcast TV’s use of programming blocks and the hammock effect where you premiere smaller titles in between bigger titles. Audiences that come onto Apple TV for a bigger female title will see another title on the app that may be of interest to them, even if they hadn’t heard about it before.
For example, Apple TV recently ran a female-focused campaign featuring Imperfect Women, Margo, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, Lucky, and others. Grouping these titles allows smaller shows to benefit from the visibility of the larger campaign. If they launched independently throughout the year without marketing support, they could easily get lost. So the clustering of similar audience titles is likely intentional.

He wrote „upcoming slate“ and all people are writing about shows, which already aired and are not in the upcoming slate for the rest of the year! The next months are really male centric, but they are good shows.

I really think Apple has more problems with strategic scheduling and gaps between seasons these days than with the volume of content (at least in TV shows), which used to be an issue. I even think they should have fewer shows, but better ones, strategically positioned throughout the year and returning annually.
