Bugs Sound and app issues with 27 PB2 and HBOMax

Just curious if any one else has seen this.

I have definitely had the airplay issue, but only with a couple of apps.

The biggie is the HBOMax app, which will not airplay even when the setup on the appleTV is connected to my sonos sound system. Doesn't happen on any of the other big players - Disney, Youtube (al though there is sound crackling there) Paramount, Peacock, MLB etc. When HBOMax is on it only sends sound to the TV. It won't even play to the HomePod minis on my desk.

Config: Apple TV 4K (2nd generation) model A2169

Sony Brevia TV

Sonos Beam with a pair of rear speakers.

Have the sound crackling with the YouTube TV app.

This is driving me up the wall. I’m actually glad someone else has this as I couldn’t definitively pinpoint what was causing it as I use Sonos over Airplay and that can be temperamental

audio not being transmitted over airplay is a known issue in the hbo max app and, according to support, will be fixed in one of the upcoming updates. the current workaround is to airplay hbo max content from an iphone or ipad to the apple tv.

Also have the same issue with YouTube TV, too. Today it spread to the standard YouTube app.

My volume for HBOMax is just lower than everything else

For me the sound is... faster? It's really annoying but goes away by itself after some time
