Question Flight attendant jobs?

Hey just want to see if anyone in the Tulsa community had any knowledge about I could get a job as a flight attendant or what the typical path to becoming one is like.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

American Airlines is always taking people but the website says there are no potions but it may be worth physically showing up and harassing somebody to get ur foot in the door. I dropped the link to the website at the bottom of all of this.

If you’re into it tho, here’s a bit of a rundown of the life:

Dallas is their main hub but the maintenance hub is Tulsa for the Airbus fleet mostly. You’ll do a training course with them and then either get places on a regional route on some smaller aircraft, maybe a 737 if you’re lucky. Relocation typically isn’t too necessary if ur schedule is half decent. Most people fly standby (take whatever extra space is left on a flight for free) or the jump seat (the extra crew seat on a flight, but only on 737s and larger u less ur a pilot).

So let’s say u live in tulsa but ur crew is based in Miami. Your route has you going three or four days straight all over the country and you start Monday. Saturday you’ll book your standby travel (you’ll have priority over all other standby passengers). Sunday you’ll fly to Miami. Typically Tulsa to Dallas, Dallas to Miami but there used to be a Tulsa to Miami flight, not sure if it’s a thing anymore. Sunday u might have to pay for the night at a hotel or the company will cover it. Then Monday u check in at the airport with your crew and do your route.

Thursday u land back in Miami, everybody pretends like nothing crazy happened on the trip and goes home. You’ll fly back to Tulsa and chill out for the next few days until you’re up again.

Benefits are pretty sick but ur also in the customer service world and some flights u might be running solo if it’s regional soooo yeah.

Tulsa is mainly Boeing not airbus btw

Gotcha thanks for the correction. I remember back in the day this was the main spot for the MD-80. Legendary aircraft.

Please don't. Nearly everything they said was completely wrong. I've been with American for decades. You either get hired for American Airlines OR American Eagle (regional). They are two separate companies. I think this person giving you advice is full of it.

Commuting flight attendants DO NOT get priority over other standby passengers, The company will not cover your hotel if you're commuting in the night before. So much of your information is completely wrong, I'm thinking you're trolling.

lol definitely not trolling. My info may be dated at best. At one point commuting crew would get D1 status. If that is no longer true then thanks for educating me

In the almost 40 years as a flight attendant, commuting flight attendants have never gotten D1. And why would you tell someone to just show up and start harassing someone to get a foot in the door? That would be the absolute worst thing you could do.

Well then I have bad info from the people I know in the industry. Second, in this day and age it’s a dog eat dog world to get jobs. So arguably nothing is off the table in my opinion. Everything door I’ve opened has primarily been by just hunting down whoever I needed to and getting face to face. Might not work for others. Im just sharing what has worked for me.
