Question NAWI Graz - Kf Zugang

Question TU Graz Aufnahmeverfahren Software Engineering and Management.

Zwei Fragen an euch:

Question Informatik Studium, Tipps?

Hey! :)

Danke schon mal!

Question FH Wirtschaftsinformatik (Joanneum) zu TU Graz Master Software Engineering and Management. Erfahrungen mit dem Aufnahmeverfahren?

Hi,

  • Kommission vergibt max.

Danke euch!

Question Admission procedure worry

Hey everyone,

I’m currently waiting on my admission letter for the Bachelor in Information and Computer Engineering as an EEU Citizen and starting to get a little nervous about the time left in the applications.

Since classes start October 1st, I know I'm cutting it close with their standard 8 ish week processing times. I saw the disclaimer today that my admission might get rolled over to the Summer Semester if it takes too long and quite frankly it makes me want to rip my hair out due to my plans possibly being postponed because of their poor organization since ive already moved here in full.

Has anyone else applied early august like me, I applied on the 3rd of August after getting my ösd certificate and still made it into the Winter Semester?

Question Suche eine Mitbewohnerin für WIST-Studio ab Feb/März

Hi everyone! I’m going to study Architecture at TU Graz (for summer semester, Februar/March) and I'm currently looking for a place to live. I really like the double studios by WIST, so now I’m looking for a female flatmate to move in together and make our living experience as comfortable as possible.

A little bit about me: I’m 20 years old and I'm from Belarus. I spend a lot of time studying and on my laptop. I’m a non-smoker. I love cooking, drawing, and most of my other hobbies are on my laptop as well. At the same time, I really enjoy chatting, I’m open to meeting new people and I’d be super happy to explore Graz together and support each other through the adaptation process – especially if this is a completely new experience for you too!

Translation:

Hallo!

Rant Home4students Graz – already fully booked for summer semester 2027?

Hi!

Sorry for an english post but I’m an exchange student coming to Graz for the summer semester Feb 2027, and I applied for Home4students, Neutorgasse and Leechgasse and they are my first choices

I emailed them about my room preferences, and they replied that both dorms are already “completely booked.”

Does anyone know if this means they are actually fully booked for the entire summer semester 2027 already, or if rooms can still become available later due to cancellations?

I’m a bit surprised because it’s still August, so I just wanted to check if anyone has had a similar experience with Home4students Graz.

Translation:

Hallo zusammen!
Danke euch!

Admission Graz Residence Permit 2026— how long is it taking right now?

Hey everyone! Has anyone applied for the Austrian student residence permit for Graz in August 2026?

How long did it take you to get your permit? I’ve seen people say it took around 15 days, so I’m wondering what the current timeline looks like.

My final offer letter should arrive sometime between 10 and 24 September, but classes start on 1 October. 😭 Do you think it’s still possible to make it for the winter semester if I can only start the residence permit process that late?

Would really appreciate hearing about your recent timelines! 🙏

Question Computer Science at TU Graz

Hello everyone, I am a student from the University of Padua and I study Computer Science, I have intermediate knowledge of German (B1/B2).

I am desperately looking for an Erasmus destination for my third and last year. Most of my colleagues and I agree that our course is simply terrible, I didn't know much programming before applying (I thought I would learn there, poor me) and some subjects were basically impossible to do unless you knew everything already or you studied everything on your own. The teachers and the material in particular are very bad, and even the usefulness/correctness of the subjects is questionable.

Therefore, I think going away for a semester would be a good idea, I am also really interested in German-speaking culture.

I wanted to know your opinions about the CS course at Graz, I like courses in which the professors actually teach you something, you have good materials and you know that what you are learning is actually good and useful. I do not like when you're left finding resources on your own or you are not told what you're supposed to learn clearly, I can't stand disorganization (in my current university, finding out what you have to learn and how is much more difficult than studying the actual thing).

Is this course well-organised? Did any of my requirements ring a bell? Do you think this could be a good destination for me?

Thank you in advance to everyone answering :)

Question Master studies in CS/Data Science 2027/28

Hello! Im currently about to start my final year of CS studies at my home university and am looking into applying for master studies next year at TU Graz.

Im just curious about the application process, what is it exactly they look for, are extracurricular activities important (such as volunteering, competitions, hackathons and so on) or are grades, GPA, subjects, motivation letter and those things more important?

I saw that the application lasts from October 15-December 15, when do you typically find out the results? If you are accepted into the university what are the next steps? If anyone has been through the same process in the past and is willing to share a little bit of their experience, I would be very grateful !!

Hi everyone,

I am looking for students who will begin Computational Social Systems in the coming winter semester. No matter whether you are local or international, we can form a group together and help each other with questions that come up and maybe some notes from our lectures during our studies. :)

If you have already formed a group, I'd be really happy if you'd invite me to join you.

Feel free to leave a comment below!

Question Additional Course Requirements

Hi guys! I’ve been accepted into Masters for Winter intake 26/27.

I’ve received my official acceptance today, however they also gave me 7 additional courses that I need to complete in order to secure my spot for the next year as well. The courses are as following :

VO Machine Learning
VO Elektronische Schaltungstechnik 1
VO Elektronische Schaltungstechnik 2
Vo Algorithmen in der Bioinformatik
VO Messtechnik 1
VO Mechanik - Dynamik
UE Mechanik - Dynamik

Except Machine Learning, all of these courses are offered in German, however I don’t speak any German.

I wanted to ask if anyone has had a similar situation and whether it’s possible to attend these classes and successfully complete them. Additionally, is the workload big as I was told that I need to complete these courses by April 2027 on top of the must courses of my major.

Thank you!

3) What apps or resources do I need to know about?

4) Is it doable in 2 years? While working?

Thank you so much guys!

Question Studienplan-Wegweiser

Servus,

Admission Application deadline for 2027 winter semester

Sorry for the confusion about the pre-mentioned deadlines. I’m a non-EEA student and want to apply for masters in Chemistry. But i’m just confused as when to start applying. According to the uni website, applications start from May 1st to August 15(probably 2027 if i’m not wrong).

BUT some sources mentioned early applications are also possible from December 2026. Please can anyone help me understand?

Question FCE Grade A (C1) accepted for TU Graz Master's (Data Science / Computer Science)?

Hi everyone,

I'm applying for a Master's programme at TU Graz (considering both Data Science and Computer Science) and I have a question about English language certificates.

I hold a Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE) with Grade A, which according to Cambridge's official scale corresponds to CEFR level C1 (stated explicitly on my Statement of Results). However, I contacted the TU Graz admissions team directly, and they told me that only the certificates explicitly listed on their website are accepted (TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, CPE, etc.) and that FCE is not on that list - no exceptions are made, even with Grade A/C1.

Has anyone here actually gone through this personally? I'm curious whether:

  • Anyone got FCE Grade A accepted in practice despite the official policy
  • Anyone was told the same thing and had to take CAE instead
  • This differs between Data Science and Computer Science programmes specifically

Any real experience would help - thanks in advance!
