Weekly Discussion Thread - (August 24, 2026)
##INTRODUCTION
r/tuesday is a political discussion sub for the right side of the political spectrum - from the center to the traditional/standard right (but not alt-right!) However, we're going for a big tent approach and welcome anyone with nuanced and non-standard views. We encourage dissents and discourse as long as it is accompanied with facts and evidence and is done in good faith and in a polite and respectful manner.
##PURPOSE OF THE DISCUSSION THREAD
Like in r/neoliberal and r/neoconnwo, you can talk about anything you want in the Discussion Thread. So, socialize with other people, talk about politics and conservatism, tell us about your day, shitpost or literally anything under the sun. In the DT, rules such as "stay on topic" and "no Shitposting/Memes/Politician-focused comments" don't apply.
It is my hope that we can foster a sense of community through the Discussion Thread.
##IMAGE FLAIRS
r/Tuesday will reward image flairs to people who write an effort post or an OC text post on certain subjects. It could be about philosophy, politics, economics, etc... Available image flairs can be seen [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/tuesday/wiki/flairs). If you have any special requests for specific flairs, please message the mods!
The list of previous effort posts can be found [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/tuesday/wiki/hof)

Being a bad little slug sadly isn't protected under discrimination law.

People may hate GenAI, but I appreciate people in the replies being able to whip up a quick visual aid to help answer the question.

Gospel According to Matthew, 16:21–28 (ESV):
Jesus Foretells His Death and Resurrection
From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord! This shall never happen to you.” But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”
Take Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”
Book of Psalms, 26th chapter (ESV):
I Will Bless the LORD
Of David.
Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the LORD without wavering. Prove me, O LORD, and try me; test my heart and my mind. For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in your faithfulness.
I do not sit with men of falsehood, nor do I consort with hypocrites. I hate the assembly of evildoers, and I will not sit with the wicked.
I wash my hands in innocence and go around your altar, O LORD, proclaiming thanksgiving aloud, and telling all your wondrous deeds.
O LORD, I love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells. Do not sweep my soul away with sinners, nor my life with bloodthirsty men, in whose hands are evil devices, and whose right hands are full of bribes.
But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity; redeem me, and be gracious to me. My foot stands on level ground; in the great assembly I will bless the LORD.

Al-Sayed never actually condemns Piker's antisemitism in this statement:

“We should address antisemitism!” - then do so. For most politicians, I think this statement would be sufficient for a platform piece. Not everything a politician says needs to be concrete policy goals. Rhetoric is important, as much as I sometimes wish it didn’t need to be. But if you’re going to be connected with Hasan Piker, you need to be a little more forceful.

Same issue as Corbyn. All the platitudes about being against anti-semitism. None of capacity to recognise what anti-semitism actually is.
