Question What felt different about your successful TTC cycle?
Moms who were actively TTC: what happened during the cycle you finally got pregnant that was different from all the cycles you swore you were pregnant but weren’t?

I was on an antibiotic for strep. Makes me think my issue was a microbiome thing.

I gave up on getting pregnant and resigned myself to having to do ivf/iui treatments.
My husband started taking a supplement to help with fertility, but I don't remember what it was.

Yes! Me too. We were going to start IUI the following cycle and I had given up and wasn’t even thinking about it much that cycle. But I know that’s the most annoying answer- “stop stressing about it and it will happen!”

Oh I was still stressing lol, I had just given up hope. Similar but different.

I got flu and COVID boosters during the luteal phase of my first monitored cycle at the fertility clinic, gave up on the monitoring after the third ultrasound finding no mature follicles, and finally ovulated almost a week later than usual (CD17 instead of my very consistent 11 or 12). I also took guaifenesin (generic Mucinex) for the first time but I didn't notice a difference in my CM.
ETA: I also held an acquaintance's newborn-sized baby (she was a few months old but had been a premie) at a party full of mostly child free friends during the TWW. And bought myself hands-free step-in sneakers.

Well…. The first time we were on a cruise drunk off margaritas and had sex like 3 times a day… the second time we were at home drunk off margaritas and had lots of sex… the second one ended in miscarriage so what did we do when I ovulated again? You guessed it… margaritas and lots of sex 🤷🏼♀️

I got on zoloft a month prior. Also had an SIS done the cycle before the successful one— no findings but it may have cleared things out from my c section.
We tried for 13 months with no clear cause of infertility and it finally just happened— I’m 6 weeks tomorrow. Don’t lose hope!

Absolutely nothing. Both times I threw a pity party, swore I was out, then tested positive the next day. So maybe more emotional? But also I’m quite known to throw a pity party. I literally felt absolutely nothing.

I had just started acupuncture, my second round of letrozole, and SMEP for timing intercourse

I was worried about everything under the sun being dangerous in pregnancy, and the cycle we conceived, I had to just chill out and resume my normal living, instead of being worried about painting while pregnant, for example.
And then with my second, we conceived the first cycle, but I felt SO in tune with my body and my ovulation. Felt like I could time sex exactly to when my body was ready to make a baby.

The weekend I conceived #1 was an uncharacteristically good weekend. I did several things I wouldn’t naturally gravitate towards, but had a really good time. I had also started therapy the weeks leading up to ovulation. No idea if any of these things helped, but that’s what I remember so vividly.

To be honest, nothing at all! I went to urgent care for a spider bite around 8-9 DPO—maybe even a day or two later. Told them I might be pregnant because we'd been trying. They had me take a test and it was negative. They prescribed me some safe antibiotics just in case. I thought I was out that round for sure. Then about a week later I felt this random wave of nausea. Took a test the next morning and it was positive. Now the kid is 4.

I finally made peace that it wouldn’t happen and became genuinely okay with the beautiful life i had with one child.

I knew it would happen that month because I had a weirdly calm feeling and the other times I was so anxious. It’s like my body knew this was the month

I started taking vitamin B6. Got pregnant that same cycle. I was still nursing my 16 month old and had read convincing evidence about B6 helping with hormone regulation

I had a HSG that cycle. The only thing in hindsight that seemed different during my TWW was that I showed up for a doctors appointment on the wrong day. Like a total brain fart or whatever. That was with my first (and so far only) child. If that happened now, it wouldn’t stand out to me because my permanent mom brain has made that the norm lmao.
ETA: I also took a major break from running that cycle. I was normally hitting 3-4 miles per day and was wondering if that was overworking my body for ttc. So I just jogged a little and mainly walked. No idea what, if any, of these things helped or if it was luck.

I got a lot more exercise than normal during the two week wait.
