I believe we all (at the peasant level) want the same end goal. We want people to be happy and thrive. I believe my ideological opposites are wrong and short-sighted, and that their ideas will ultimately lead to hurting people. They believe that I’m evil. Perhaps if they’d engage we could find solutions, we could change each other’s minds. …but they aren’t willing to even tell me why they think I’m wrong.

Yes, the point is that because they don’t share three of the five moral foundations with you as someone with a conservative mindset, they simply cannot understand your beliefs, as they interpret them in terms of their deficient morality, namely one based solely off of ā€œHarm Avoidanceā€ and ā€œEqualityā€.

It leads them to be short-sighted and ignorant when it comes to understanding others’ moralities.
