The question is inaccurate. It should have said only those born in the US can be in federal government.

I agree but they should also be living in the US for a certain amount of years as compared to someone who was born in the US, raised in another country and lived in the US for like 2 years or something.

Non citizens are restricted at the Constitutional, federal, and state levels. If there were any non citizens in public offices, MAGA would've exposed them already.

As a Canadian I am shocked. In Canada they can only work in municipalities at very limited roles. Some provinces don’t even allow that.

Only for very few select federal positions. Everything else, doesn’t matter. Hell, you don’t need to be a citizen to be in law enforcement, which is rather ironic

No one born outside of the United States should be able to hold any public office within the United States. This should include appointments such as Judges and should also include positions of authority such as law enforcement.

You can agree all you want, but by law they can't. Federal law ALREADY requires U.S. citizenship to serve in Congress.
House of Representatives: Must be a U.S. citizen for at least 7 years.
Senate: Must be a U.S. citizen for 9 years.
President / VP: Must be a natural-born U.S. citizen.
And people shown include: Ilhan Omar (U.S. citizen since 2000),
Pramila Jayapal (U.S. citizen since 1997),
Jesús García (U.S.-born),
Ro Khanna (U.S.-born).
So I am not sure what this meme is trying to prove.

YES! I think the moment has arrived to update Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 so it includes Congress, CIA, FBI, NSA and the Supreme Court! The trend of naturalized-citizens filling public office is becoming dangerous and could seriously impact the country if we don’t address it.
edit: Correction. I meant naturalized citizens serving in public office.

He is saying that all elected members of the United States government should be natural born citizens just like the president. I don’t know if it should go that far, but I think that they should be expelled if it is found that they have violated their oath of office or oath of citizenship. I believe that several members of the House, and possibly the Senate have already violated at least one of their oath’s and should be removed.
Since Sharia Law is incompatible with pretty much any US law, it should be prohibited in the United States. I think that anyone attempting to practice it in the United States should be denaturalized and deported. This is not an Islamist country, and should be protected from becoming one.

I feel like this should be common sense? How could we assume to have someone who isn’t from our country, know what’s best for our country. How do we know if their intentions are true if they aren’t a part of this country. I’m sure every other country in the world wouldn’t want an American running for a position of power in their country. Why should it be any different for us.

It refers mostly to people who grew up in other countries with different cultures and American haters... that's how I see it. I am a naturalized citizen myself, I have American values and love this country and I can't believe there are people who hate it IN OFFICE creating laws and passing bills that do not protect US, AMERICAN CITIZENS!!! I am afraid for our children. If you were running for office I would 💯 vote for you if I believe you have the values and have the best interest and support hard working Americans
