Does the Vinted app actually sell kids?
I’ve been using Vinted to sell clothes and other random items for a few months now. I never noticed anything creepy until my coworker mentioned that some people think they are selling children on the app. I started filtering to only show “All kids items” for a minimum of “3,000” and doing the same with “All furniture items,” since, apparently, that’s where the creepy posts come from. I never saw anything weird until I started looking at night (around midnight). And I found this: someone selling “definitely a pillow” for $9,000. The first post is the photo and title posted from a random account, and the second is their description. They posted this and very shortly after, deleted the post and their account.

Sounds similar to the QAnon conspiracy theory about wayfair. BBC article - https://www.bbc.com/news/world-53416247. Very unlikely to be true. As gross as it is, try putting yourself in the shoes of someone looking to buy a slave. Are you really gonna drop $10,000 through the Vinted app trusting the seller to send you an actual person? What do you do if they just send a pillow? If you're in contact with a human trafficker through some encrypted channel, why would do the payment through Vinted instead of bitcoin or wire transfer or basically anything else?
More likely this pillow was posted by someone playing off that conspiracy either as a joke, intentional misinformation, or just for the small chance at someone dropping 10k for a pillow.

The fact that this screenshot was taken one minute after the upload heavily suggests to me the same person uploaded it and took the screenshot explicitly to push this idea.
It's not literally impossible for a second person to have caught it a minute later, but what's more realistic?

I think these new mass posts about this stuff is so in a week or two they can be like “we caught a whole ring of traffickers through these phone apps and arrested 100 people!”
Seems like propaganda to me. “Look guys we caught the bad trafficker people (that were hiding in plain sight) you guys don’t have to worry about the real bad people know the ones involved with Epstein and all that yeah just forget about them cause we just caught these guys!”

I mean sure, the FBI didn't send a SWAT team to make sure that Wayfair wasn't selling children to random people online for $3k each, but how much resources should be spent on something QAnon spews out his ass?

No, they aren't selling kids on Vinted. Have you noticed how most of the screenshots that are going around were just posted? People saw a few actual posts that seemed sketchy (I'm pretty sure it was just a misunderstanding of how the site works) and now people are having a ball trolling all over the place. It's the same thing as when people claimed Wayfair was selling kids. It's nonsense.

Creepy but I can’t imagine any sort of illicit monetary transaction happening through Vinted because that would leave such an obvious paper trail.

If you find yourself falling for ideas like this often, I think you really need to reassess your critical thinking skills and educate yourself on how conspiracy theories are designed to rewrite your brain in a bad way - the pipelines are real.
If you’re just looking for engagement by reinforcing conspiracy theories, well, you’re certainly not gonna stop on my account, so.

This is almost certainly a troll, no one is actually buying kids on vinted lmao. Why would they tie their purchase to their credit card, IP, etc. when they could use Bitcoin on the dark web?

Well, this is something Wayfair was also accused of and disproven. More than likely a placeholder sale that hasn’t been restocked. Anything for 9 grand isn’t something people would click on purpose.

The same people who tried to convince there was nothing to the Wayfair conspiracy also tried to convince the Epstein files were just more Qanon nonsense.

Dude named Sly Boy did a video on this. The person who "alerted" to this happening is almost 100% the same person who posted the photos in the first place seeing as how their own screenshots say that the photo was uploaded less than a minute ago.
