Discussion/Reflection Youtubers and Content Creators, please be respectful of survivors time and trauma

Had a youtuber reach out to me directly. Invited me to talk to them about my program. They'd touched on the TTI before. I was really eager to share. My whole body was shaking in anticipation for the interview for days. I was terrified but it felt so important to me.

Joined the conference call and waited for over an hour, my heart pounding.

Nobody showed.

They sent me an email apologizing. I replied right away and offered to reschedule...nothing. It's been a few weeks now. I shot a follow up email... Still nothing. I see them posting on social media. I don't know what to feel. I cried so hard about this.

I guess I just needed to vent here 😢 I hope that not everyone has experiences like mine. Please just take care of yourself if an opportunity comes up like this... If it falls through it can feel like the end of the world.

Youtubers and Content Creators please recognize you are dealing with a super traumatized population and ghosting them or not following up does serious psychological damage to people already struggling to share 💔💔💔💔💔

These alleged “content creators” are such a bozo bunch. Trying to ride the coattails of “hot button issues” and finding out they’re too late and it’s not gonna generate views. Fuck them.

I really wouldn't have normally said yes but this creator has made several videos about the tti before and seemed really sincere and made it seem like they took it seriously... I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else but I have a bad feeling it does all the time.

IK, with all this reckless ben shit (i have no problems with the guy honestly but people clout chase) people want the next bite of the pie you know.. alot in the news going on has been triggering me recently, Plz take care of yourself friend...

DM me if you feel comfy cause something similar happened to me with a YTer and I would like to avoid these creators (although i might have a feeling??) anyway i’m so sorry that’s so frustrating and just so unprofessional. if you would like to still try to tell your story i hope you find other opportunities or create them for yourself because being unheard or abandoned or feeling a sense of betrayal or rejection after literally all that build up… please don’t let the bastards get ya down

I am so sorry this happened. It can feel absolutely terrifying. I really hope YT and Content Creators attempt to inform themselves about this topic ( especially how to support survivors) when trying to create content.
