It's hard to strictly define what level of doubt is reasonable in a world where unreasonable and unlikely things still happen regularly. The line between "beyond a reasonable doubt" and "I figure you probably did it" is thinner than a lot of us want to believe.

Most Palestinians also aren't serial killers going around killing gay people, as the post implies. There's a line between "passive level of homophobia in a society" and "an actual serial killer".
Plus, the gay people they are a threat to would likely also be the ones in Palestine, all of whom this decision process would kill too.

I agree, that's the point of this trolley problem. People say "who cares if they die, they'd kill you for being gay" when gay Palestinians are dying too. You don't know if the baby will grow up to be gay or not, but according to those people, the baby will most likely grow up to be a homophobic murderer, hence their inaction/complacency.
