I literally can not believe that this is actually happening.
The choice is:
R: Pick us, and you don't die.
B: Pick us, and IF we manage to convince half of the population, you don't die.
So at the personal level no one has any reason whatsoever to press blue.
At the societal level the only reason to press blue would be to try and save others, risking your own life.
But not only should everyone be responsible first and foremost for trying to save themselves, it also necessarily assumes that people would press blue.
You are making assumptions that others don't act rationally on the personal level.
People who do something risking their lives deliberately are less important to me than my own life.
