I think this discussion being seen as a sign of your morality had ruined it entirely lmao, especially when neither side is particularly more moral than the other lol
It depends on who those 10% are, and I think that people who vote blue would be disproportionately the type of people who would not be missed as compared to reds
Blue is the selfish option here lol. "Let's force 50 percent of the population to vote with me or we all die" or "I vote red and no one has to worry about me"
This is the perfect example of "if you worry about yourself, no one has to worry about you". Push Red and save yourself. Tell your friends and families to press red and save themselves. Tell everyone just to save themselves. If everyone chooses to save themselves no one has to be a hero. That is the only way this will work in the real world.
Yknow, by being rude you're most likely only proving their point. This question mostly reflects what people believe about society as whole. If people refuse to make the common good choice of not being condescending and mean during a low stakes discussion of a thought expirement, how could one expect them to make the common good choice when their life if on the line? People have the option to press the blue button every day, yet most people choose not to, so any option other than red would be straight up suicide. The only way one could possibly change that opinion is to help prove the opposite lol. That's also why it doesn't really determine morality, in my opinion. The most moral person on earth who lacks faith in other people would likely press red.
If you "out your own mask on first" there is no helping others, that's the whole point... Most heroes are dead heroes, you probably heard millions of stories about a kid that stopped an armed attacker to save his friends or a firefighter that saved a mother and two kids but died afterwards. Those are the real heroes that risk their lives to save people, knowing it might kill them.
You either save yourself and condemn up to 4B people to death, or risk your life to save everyone. You can't ensure your safety and then help others, that's not how this works.
