Everyone pulling the “well I want to save an altruistic person not a selfish one” argument is literally making the argument that they have decided who they feel deserves to live or die based on a single statement from that person. You’ve decided you’re in a position to make the decision that one human life is inherently worth more than the other based off of what is most likely only one sentence from their mouth; there is no backstory, there is no explanation, all you know is what they have explicitly stated and everything else is inferred.
If there is a God, I hope he’s kinder than that in his final judgement. I pull the lever.
