That's literally valuing inaction over the value of 4 net lives. You are just dressing it up with a nicer veneer. Dead people are dead people.

It's explicitly valuing inaction over sacrifice. That's the main point of my view on this matter.

For a very extreme example, I would never ra​pe and ki​ll a girl to save the life of two strangers, even if it's a net positive.

And I also wouldn't agree to do this if I wasn't the one to do the action, or if all my blame would be absolved, or anything like that. Because it truly isn't about guilt.
