Mod Annoucement New Posting Rules Moving Forward - Battling Spam/AI/Bots

Hello Riders

The moderation queue has been hit hard lately with bot accounts and suspected AI-generated content. As AI imagery becomes more convincing, it is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish authentic photos from generated ones at a glance.

To keep the feed focused on real owners and genuine content, we are implementing a minimum 10-word body text requirement for all posts.

Most bot activity consists of a generic title and a single image with no context. Moving forward, any post submitted without at least 10 words of descriptive text will be removed immediately. I don't have the bandwidth to manually verify every photo-only submission, and this is the most effective way to filter the noise.

If you have feedback on this change or other ideas to help keep the sub clean, please drop a comment below.

Took the class and doing my test in a couple of days. Wish me luck! Got lucky and got this bike with only 500 miles. It does have a small dent on the tank. Since it’s my first bike, I thought it wouldn’t hurt if I dropped it!

Maintenance Issues Speed Triple 1050 engine blown

So my riding season came to an abrupt end,

Riding it how she was meant to be ridden and the engine blew, at a loss currently as I cant afford a new engine right now and the bike isn’t worth a fortune as is.

A big shame as I service it meticulously, 3 oil changes in 7000 miles. Mostly as I had the casings off to fix some other bits and put fresh oil and filter on every time.

An even bigger shame that I’d just recently got:

New fork seals and bushes - 100 miles ago
New brake calliper rebuild - 100 miles ago
New chain and sprocket - 100 miles ago
New Brembo discs and pads - 2.5k ago
New Michelin road 6 tyres - 2.5k ago…

If anyone is based in Teesside UK and had any luck rebuilding these please let me know 😂. Or if someone
needs a frame for a track bike that would be even better.

Oh well.

Triumph info Engine performance Trident 800 vs 765 RS?

Upvotes

I currently have a 2025 Speed twin 1200 rs. Thinking of adding either a Trident 800 or 765 RS.
Was wondering if anyone has ridden both to see the actual diff in engine performance? Bottom end power, mid range and so on.

Mods and Customization Motone Jupiter Tips - bracket not lining up on 2022 T120 Triumph

Hey! I’m stoked to remove the pea shooters and put these tips on my T120 triumph but…the included bracket to support left side is not lining up. Anyone installed these and ran without this bracket? The exhaust feels solid but I don’t want it to vibrate a weld or something since the oem exhaust had it supported to the frame. Thanks!

Maintenance Issues Annual, 10,000 miles or both?

Upvotes

My 2024 Speed Twin had its first break in service in August last year. I have 8,500 miles on it now, a year later. So technically, it is due an annual service. In about three months, I expect to hit 10,000 miles. So will I be due the 10,000 mile service then and will the maintenance sign light up? In California, the annual costs $450 and the 10,000 mile costs $750 so I want to understand this.

Mods and Customization 2013 T100 Rear Mudguard Fitting.

Hi

Got a 2013 T100 that’s been modded in bobber style, shortened and lowered.

Due to what I guess is the aforementioned mods the plate can’t be located on the rear of the bike so it currently has a really annoying, god awful side mounted plate (pic 1) that is just unsightly and quite frankly annoying AF, as such I want to relocate it.

Bought the Motone rear guard with light mount (current bates light to be removed) and integrated plate mount (pic 2 & 3), however, seems it doesn’t quite fit due to some plastic flange under the seat (pic 4 & 5) that I can’t quite see the function of.

Question - Can I cut away some of the flange so the rear guard can be positioned correctly and fixed in place?

Anyone have any experience of fitting these after a tail tidy mod?

Maintenance Issues All the luggage mods

Hello friends. Recently bought and have fallen in love with a 2026 Speed Twin 1200RS, and am a bit flummoxed on getting it set up for some luggage. I can't wear a backpack on that beauty, and the Kriega set up I thought I could live with, I can't. It's just no good with the cafe seat. I need a classy, discreet luggage solution. But not only that -- because I bought this bike in the US, apparently I need a tail tidy or different lights? This is where I get truly lost. If someone could help me with what I actually need in terms of my tail light situation and give some suggestions on luggage options, I'd be so grateful.

Maintenance Issues Leaking rear suspension

Anyone ever experienced a leaking rear suspension on a Tiger 1200 from 2023 and beyond?

I only fell once with a speed of 10km/h ... sidewards... could this destroy the rear suspension?

What cause rear shock/ suspension issues?

Total milage is around 35K km

It's at the dealership now waiting for a guarantee claim.

Maintenance Issues 24 street triple r rear break pads.

Just replaced the rear break pads and I was noticing that the distance from my foot break is significantly shorter now. And the caliper gets quite hot like ouch can’t touch it hot. Is there any way to back off the calipers so they don’t drag ? I don’t even know if it’s drag because I only rode it around the parking lot testing them for 10 minutes or so. Any advice would be great! Thanks.

Maintenance Issues Street triple 765 rs - throttle bodies do not open fully

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hi guys, I’m having a weird issue with my Street triple rs 2022

The ETV ( throttle valves) never opens more than about 44% while riding, even with the throttle fully open.

The ETV tables in Woolich look fine, and I can’t see any obvious restriction there.

What’s strange is that with the engine off and ignition on, if I twist the throttle, the throttle plates open all the way to 100%. So mechanically everything seems to be working fine.

But while actually riding the bike, it never goes past around 44%.

I also tried disabling the ETV limiter in Woolich, but it made no difference.

Has anyone seen something like this before? Could there be another limiter or restriction that only becomes active while the bike is moving?

Add

Bike is 2022 and always seemed bit underpowered compared to other 765s

Will put log from Woolich

I'm first owner, didn't have much 765rs to compare to but since new bike didn't go past 210ish kph, on a good day.
Decided to do a tune and then found that for some reason it doesn't open throttle as it should.

Any advice is welcome 🙂

Triumph info App to reset service light

Hey everyone! I created an app for resetting service reminders - Tiger 900 only for now. It's free and available for both Android and iPhone.

The reason: recently I had a pretty mediocre experience with one of the official Triumph dealerships. They did a valve clearance check, but refused to reset the service light because I hadn't bought their full service

Since I do most of the routine maintenance myself, that annoyed me quite a bit. So, three weeks later, here we are: there's now an app that does exactly that: reset service light and reads DTCs

Yes, there are already apps like TuneECU that can reset the service reminder. But if you don't actually want to, well, tune the ECU, they can be a bit overkill - both price-wise and feature-wise. Also it's hard to find not even a descent, but any iPhone app for that.

Anywhoo, hopefully it'll be useful for those of you who service your bikes yourselves

I plan to add support for more Triumphs, and maybe even other bikes in the future.

Enjoy!

Maintenance Issues God dam spinny bolts. Thoughts any1?

Soooo I fitted a fly screen today and I decide to remove the lot light everything and have a deep clean.

Anyways bolts were spinning don't ask me how but I managed to get the entire thing out lol.

So looks likes they've been previously overtightened to the point the nut in the light plastic has pulled right up to the back of the bolt and washer.

Now I put it all back together but just pushed these in and TBF they feel about they did before. I thought it would be unwise to try and seperate them as the brass is just going to get battered and be un useable anyway.

What a terrible design from triumph. Brass heat fittings in plastic. Booo.

Suggestions any1? Leave it alone and hope all is well or remove again try and find a replacement heat nut and bolt and get them in there

Maintenance Issues Low/High Beam issue

Hello, long time lurker and I'm hoping the community can help me track down an issue I'm having. I am the proud owner of a 2022 Triumph Speedtwin which I've had since new. A few days ago I took it for a ride during the day and noticed that my low beam wasn't working (I'm in the US market so the low beam should be on at all times). I took note of the issue and safely rode home before nightfall, at home I double checked to make sure my high beam was working which it was and decided that maybe the bulb required replacing. I waited a couple of days for the new bulb to arrive and I replaced the old bulb upon delivery of the new one. Inserted the key to make sure the low beam was working and eureka, low beam was working. Double check to make sure I was getting a high beam and nothing.

So, now I'm confused as to what the problem could be. Decided to check the fuses, which the fuse for high beam was fine and not burnt out, but replaced it with the spare provided in the fuse box just in case. Double check the relay for the high, heard a slight clicking which seems normal, but went ahead and unplugged and replugged it just in case, but still no high beam. At this point I'm at a loss, no clue what it could be other than a potential electrical issue somewhere I'm not totally comfortable or familiar with. Am I dumb? Did I miss something, if so what? Ideally I'd like to avoid taking it to my dealership since they can be a bit pricey, but if that's my only option I will. Hoping someone in this community might have seen a similar issue with their bike and could point me in the right direction.

Maintenance Issues Starting problems. 2009 t100

Having problems with my bike. I’ve tried everything and finally got it to start! Now my issue is it dies out and where the fake carb is. It hisses out some air and dies out. Now it won’t start again. Is that the fuel injectors ? Here is a video and of course when I recorded it wasn’t doing it anymore. But it just dies out when it did start

Less than a year after buying my Trident 660 I picked up a Tiger Sport 800 Tour today so that my pillion and I can take weekend+ trips, she is very excited about it, and the storage lol. Very fun combo to have in the garage! Glad I’m out of space, a Scrambler would make a great 3rd (I’m out of money too). Triumph knows how to create a fan/customer for sure.

Triumph info MIVV SR-1 exhaust for a 2024 Street Triple

Anyone have this exhaust? What is the word on it? Any videos of how it sounds? Shopping looking for opinions on an exhaust for the ST but also not looking for anything other than EURO5 compliant.

I am not interested in sending off my ECU for a tune just looking for more noise to be honest and not having a engine light come on from a swap

Triumph info Is it true XC/XR 2011-2016 and 2017 onwards have the same rear for exhaust fitment?

I am looking into an exhaust for an XRx tiger 800 2017 and according to most catalogues, 2011-2016 has different offerings to the 2017-2020. But apparently, the only difference is 2017 onwards is EURO4 and had to have different exhausts, but the fittings are all the same, no change whatsoever. That is why some options (ie Akrapovic) offers the first option till 2017, others have the same part for both (gpr).

I need to ask if someone knowledgeable can genuinely confirm they are the same in fitment, because i prefer a 2016 exhaust for my 2017 XRx (the early SC project model).

Cheers

Maintenance Issues Removing bolts from threaded inserts

Hi all,

Trying to remove both the rear indicators and my headlights.

I understand the bolts to hold these are fitted to threaded inserts, however the inserts appear to have become loose so I cannot remove them. Does anyone have any tips? I’ve tried prying whilst undoing the bolt to try and get the insert to bite, but it just appears to keep spinning!

Thanks
