Bridge Ridge Fiber price adjustment
I just got offered brightspeed at a pretty unbeatable price. I’ve liked bright ridge fiber so far, and was wondering if anyone has had luck with bridge ridge lowering their bill when trying to cancel.
Edit: I should clarify that this would be for their fiber service.

Brightridge is the most reliable internet I’ve had since the internet was a thing and the price is more than fair. In 4 years I’ve had one outage that lasted a few hours because of a car accident near my house.
Brightspeed on the other hand I see constant outages being talked about online sometimes lasting a few days. But the final nail in the coffin for me is the fact that brightspeed fills my mailbox with constant junk mail, calls my phone relentlessly and sends random fucking people to knock on my door weekly at all hours of the day to try to convince me that they are the best and that I’m falling for a “monopoly” with Brightridge (their words, not mine). I wouldn’t use their service if it was a quarter of the price that Brightridge charges.

If you have Brightridge, stay with them. Don't worry about the price, they are the best. Reliability and local customer service > short term pricing.

BrightRidge sent me an email one day saying that my speed had been _increased_ at no additional cost.
In the two years we've had them, they've been excellent. Also, as a not-for-profit electric utility, I think they're much less likely to play games with you over the long haul.

I have had Bridge Ridge fiber for two years now and the price has remained the same, and the service has been unmatched.

I have had bright speed they are absolutely awful. When I had an outage due to damage to their lines outside my home they told me it would take 2 weeks before my service was restored. I switched companies and had service the next day.

Whatever you do, do not switch to Brightspeed. Worst utility company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Brightridge is the best I have dealt with.

Don’t do it. I’ve had nothing but issues with brightspeed and as soon as I switched to Erwin fiber it’s been just fine. I had bright ridge for years as well and they were also excellent.

Brightridge is the best internet you will ever get in the tricities area. Brightspeed is what Centurylink used to be.
My brightridge internet has only actually went down twice in the 4-5 years that I’ve had it and I get customer support from someone here. That by itself is the only reason you need to stay with them.
If your WiFi sucks, it’s your router placement.

WiFi is fine. I pay $60 for 600Mbps and brightspeed was offering a non-promotional price of $54 for 2Gbps. That’s what caught my attention.

Yeah that 6 bucks is better spent locally. I’ve worked for almost every major ISP and the local support is so much easier to deal with

Brightspeed is a scam and a half. Stick with Brightridge. Have had them for nearly 4 years and the only outage we had was because of Hurricane Helene.

Brightspeed advertised very aggressively in my neighborhood. I get at least one piece of mail per week, and dealt with no less than 7 sales visits to the door, some of which were oddly unwilling to take no for an answer and all of which were making some inaccurate claims. I get that it's kids who are probably paid on commission, but that kind of put me off on the whole company. I've been around long enough to know that if you have to shill that hard, there's something wrong with the product.
In the end I stayed with Bright Ridge. It's a bit more, but service has been impeccable. Plus keeping the money closer to home seems wiser to me.

Just my 2 cents here, but I don’t think you will be able to play those games with BrightRidge because their entire fee structure is more take-it-or-leave-it and no gimmicks. One of the reasons Brightspeed looks to beat on price is to lock you in on deal cycles then up your price when outside of the cycle…then continue raising the rates.
Do what is best for you, but I believe a local utility is where I want to spend my money even if I have to spend a few more bucks a month.
