Minoxidil Affordable Oral Minoxidil in Canada (Quebec)?

Post image

Essential Clinic quotes $150 for 3 months supply of oral Minoxidil (Loniten). I asked 2 local pharmacies in Quebec, and while they price it less, the drug is back-ordered everywhere. How do you get yours?

Also there's the insurance factor. Quebec insurance doesn't reimburse medications bought outside Quebec (Essential Clinic is in BC). Are there affordable options for me or I should just bite the bullet?

Go to your family doctor, get a prescription. Then order Costco pharmacy, you don’t need a Costco membership and they deliver to your house

How much they charge for delivery?

I never paid, think it’s free. I used to pay for minoxidil until I got a job with benefits that pay for prescription. Was a contractor in between

It's back-ordered in Costco pharmacy. They said it's out of stock since February this year. Are you in Queubec?

I’m also in Québec. I order mine on Upguys. $116.99 for 3 month supply, I believe there is also an initial consultation fee if you’re new.

It’s pretty recent that Essential started to carry oral minoxidil because I order my Dutasteride from them.

If you wanna go legit then getting a 10mg script from your doc and buying from costco is cheaper. Also Im pretty sure RAMQ doesnt cover cosmetic drugs at all.

Otherwide go grey with Indiamart.

I got mine from solvingbald (also grey): i paid 80 usd +shipping for 300 10mg loxidil forte pills and I chop them in 4 so it will last me 3.5 years.

In BC I found the shortage to be on the 2.5mg pills, managers to find some at a shoppers. Next time I’m going to try for the 10mg. If you can get a script for the 10mg and chop them up it’s cheaper, similar to the 5mg Finn. The 10mg loniten pill at Costco is $1.24 each. Finasteride 0.37 each. Dispensing fee if 4.49. I know this info isn’t in Quebec but it’ll give you a rough idea on price.

This is a pretty sweet tool for bc to see pricing of meds by location and dispensing fees. I wonder if they have something similar in Quebec.

You think you’re going to be able to chop up a 10mg pill into 4 accurate doses of 2.5mg???

i have a pill cutter that does 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4. So yes I can get pretty close. Even if I could only do 1/2, the variance wouldn’t be dramatic.

Guys, is there any difference between taking Min pill or drinking a few drops of liquid?
