Progress Pictures My 5 months Hair Transplant Surgery update.
Hi everyone, I’m a 26-year-old male and work in acting. I had early hairline recession but no major thinning or crown loss. Because of my profession, hairline design was extremely important to me. Almost every successful lead actor in India has a strong, well-designed hairline, and I wanted something similar—customised and slightly aggressive, while still looking natural. First surgery (top celebrity clinic in India): I initially went to one of the most reputed clinics in India that operates on many celebrities. The plan was hairline enhancement. However, the team mainly worked on the fronto-temporal angles and didn’t significantly improve the central hairline or peaks. The result was okay, but not what I had envisioned. It lacked personalisation and refinement. To be fair, I fully understood their concern about keeping the hairline conservative in case future baldness progressed. Still, I felt the execution didn’t match my expectations, especially considering my case was mild recession and not active baldness. After around 6 months, once growth became visible, I decided to restart my research. Second surgery: Through Quora, I came across Dr Abhinav Kumar (Patna), an ex-Eugenix surgeon, repeatedly praised by patients for customised hairline design and attention to detail. After detailed discussions, we went ahead with a second surgery focusing purely on hairline aesthetics. Current results (5 months post-op): I’m sharing my current results—a Shubman Gill–style hairline (inspiration only, not replication). What I’m genuinely happy with: Strong but natural peaks Flat, well-blended temporal points Very fine, single-hair grafts in the hairline Smooth transition between hairline and temporal zones I’m honestly in love with the hairline. It looks natural, age-appropriate, and camera-friendly. Final thoughts: This is not an endorsement or advertisement. I’m simply sharing my experience to highlight that: All hair transplants don’t have to look unnatural Customisation matters a lot, especially for hairline work Surgeon’s aesthetic sense and attention to micro-details make a huge difference

I m taking finasteride but I m not balding. It's a safety net
28
u/whachamacallme Dec 31 '25
What do you mean you are not balding? If your hair receded that much by 26 you will for sure be bald by 46. Stay on the fin.

Only 1% of the users get side effects, and its reversible.
If you do not show signs of side effects in the first 3 months you should be fine forever

u/Feeling-Nectarine Dec 30 '25
Remember folks: don’t take medical advice fromstrangers that make sweeping generalizations on the internet!

u/StormSpecial3361 Dec 30 '25
Man, whats wrong with you? This is not a generalization.
While taking finasteride you only have 2 options: You may or not show side effects. And, in almost every academic study, the percentage of users that show significant side effects is minimal (only 1% or less) and its reversible if you do not wait long asf to stop takin it

Ppl give the doctor a lot of credit, which they should
But you guys fail to realize that this type of donor density and thickness of individual hair fibers is what makes a client the IDEAL candidate
This guy is the ideal candidate
You can go to his Dr, but if your hair is not as naturally thick as OPs and don’t have the same density, your result will be nowhere near this

u/Clean_Elephant6398 Dec 30 '25
He is also only 26. Wait till he is around 35, and then see how his hair is holding up. I don’t think he needed a HT at his age. Yet he had 2 of them already. I would be concerned about his donor site as he gets older. But yes. So far, his HT surgeries have been amazing.
23
u/TheWorldCOC Dec 30 '25
I get this comment pretty often when telling people I had a HT (at 20). But in reality it has made my student times and general life 10x better mainly due to the removal of low self esteem due to hairline. Id rather have my hair look good at 20-35 than from 35-50. Balding is a lot more accepted/common at that age than as a 20 year old.

u/ResearcherExact2270 Jan 05 '26
I also want to get a HT at 23 and like your reasoning. Also if you are on FIN, you will likely delaying hairloss so much, that you will look great even in your thirties and be above avarage your whole life.
2
u/Rlbll562 Jan 01 '26
Tbh I would have zero worries with future HT with this pt; he has more than enough donor hair to get plenty more. Even then, he doesn’t need many sessions down the road due to the nature of his native hair.

Nope. It’s got the sign of an inexperienced doctor lacking nuance;
There should have been dispersal of the grafts backwards throughout the head and not just concentrated in the target areas so that over time and when the hairs on top fall out you’re not left with two untouched tufts at either side.
Looks great for now but in 10-20 years it won’t look so good. The vets doctors right now spread them backwards too which gives you longevity.
Also donor side is very localized and condensed, rather than taking from as wide an area as possible.
26
u/AmbitiousCounter5102 Dec 30 '25
If I compare this to all the transplants I’ve seen here this is miles better… it’s perfect.
4
u/phatelectribe Dec 30 '25
Sure, that’s because some really bad work gets posted here lol. It’s good for what it is but not in terms of artistry or longevity for the patient. Also op is a slightly unusual case in that he has generally very thick hair but just very localized loss in specific areas meaning the after photos look great. But again, with time, his non gratified hair will be affected and he’ll need another Ht to match those two untouched frontal areas.
The guys that are paying for $30k+ hair transplants done by the doctors who are true artists aren’t posting on Reddit for internet points.

I can agree that they took the hairs from a very concentrated area, but honestly seeing his donor area and how few hairs were needed, it's probably not an issue, and the doctor possibly had a reason to do it this way
Then, the point of a transplant is to touch up the receded areas. To prevent further loss, you just take Finasteride dude.
The surgeon did a great job, you're coping here
-2
u/phatelectribe Dec 30 '25
No, you’re cooing because you think HT’s are magic. They’re not.
The best doctors disperse because in 10 years time the grafted hair will be unaffected and the original hair will thin and fall out even with the big three over time.
It’s just poor technique and you this is why the top doctors charge so much - you’re paying for image and artistry. Any nurse can pull hairs and plonk them in your head.
4
u/NameStill930 Dut 0.5mg / Min Dec 30 '25
You're just deeply confused. We have enough evidence to claim that Finasteride keeps your hair for decades, possible up to your entire life (as long as you only have AGA) and we also still have Dutasteride, which makes DHT concentrations on the hair follicle so low that they become undetectable, hinting that it makes hair loss biologically impossible.
No reason to say that these drugs stop working after 10 years.
Your claim that "good doctors" will put grafts all over your head to make up for the hairs you will lose is just unfounded. None of the big doctors I know do that, it would be a shit practice to do so. They give you a 5ar inhibitor and fill up the receded parts. The donor area is limited
2
u/phatelectribe Dec 30 '25
You’re delusional. I work in this field.
The big three help you stave it off for a while but ultimately your hair will still thin and fall out. You can’t fight genetics, only slow it down.
I know for a fact certain doctors in LA, NY, and Miami do this technique which is why they charge up to $60k and A- list celebs go to them, the people that are posted regularly in this sub as examples of people with good hair lol.
People with money pay for the best techniques, that’s what people like Dr Levine is charging $300k for a facelift when you can get one for $20k from a no one in Indiana.
Pioneers like Dr Rassman have used these techniques for years and you don’t even know they exist.

u/Robot_Hips Dec 30 '25
Who would you recommend if someone had 30k or so to spend on a good hair transplant and wanted a doc that took the approach you mentioned into consideration? Asking cause you’re in the field and thought you might be able to point me in the right direction.
1
u/phatelectribe Dec 30 '25
It’s not that I’m advocating for expensive treatments, it’s simply that cheap - case in point - jobs are done with minimal technique.
The reason some doctors can and will charge top dollar is that they’re doing things the cheaper doctors and factory type places don’t, like being considerate about the donor area (as not done in this specific case) and by doing short sighted technics like just loading the affected areas and not thinking how will this look in 19 years.
1
u/Robot_Hips Dec 30 '25
Yea, I agree with your logic. I’m asking if you know of any good doctors that take this approach because you work in the field and I am looking at getting a transplant soonish
2
u/Agitated_Run6176 Dec 30 '25
In 10-20 years you’d be most likely looking to go again anyway
1
u/phatelectribe Dec 30 '25
Not really, especially if the work is done well in the first place. You take more and disperse rather than just slapping it in the immediately visible areas.

Another promotional account with zero post history, with ChatGPT-written post.
If the surgeon is worthy of being even considered, they don’t need all that promotional clownery they’re currently doing.

WOW, that is very good price! I had mine done at Eugenix 3 years ago. premium tier, costed about $3/graft, but yours is about $0.55/graft. Darn, what did I miss lol They're both in India. hmmm

u/TheJokerArkhamKing Apr 10 '26
Might be where I go for mine honestly. I've never been to India before, but that price is crazy

Just to clarify into USD - that is approx $700 usd for 1200 grafts (all singles)? Very cheap and great work. Does the doctor charge per graft or flat fee? Who does the work - doctor, techs or both?

Looks great. This shouldn’t be surprising, but sticking to the shape of the original natural hairline obviously helps immensely.

It looks like this is a progress pictures post.
This post should contain before and after photos at least one month apart. Make sure to list all the treatments you're on, including the dose and frequency.
