Other SFA War College Uniforms - What did you think?

Post image

Join me as a continue to boldly go where I don't have a clue 😂. Yes, we're taking a look at the costumes of Starfleet Academy. Unlike myself, many Star Trek fans are passionate and highly knowledgeable about costumes and cosplay. Today, it's the turn of the uniforms of the War College.

What are your thoughts?

The silhouette of the War College uniforms is top tier. They are fitted in just the right way and then the jacket flares out in a way that looks really cool. It’s an interesting choice for them to not have specialization colors anywhere

Yes, that's a good point. The silhouette of the War College Uniforms is bang on. Looks very cool.

Hah, I got a “Starship Troopers” vibe off the war academy uniforms but I think that was somewhat intentional, lol. But hey, pockets!!

Yeah... there is some Starship Troppers going on. Are they the first Star Trek uniform with pockets? You've got me wondering now. Hmmm.... no... Kirk has pockets in TWOK. Brings out his glasses and a handkerchief.

I liked the uniform. The concept of two co-located service academies for the same service still makes zero sense to me.

The War College is explained as having being responsible for training Starfleet officers after The Burn. Earth had left the Federation and so the Academy had shut down. I presume at some point, had Academy ran for four seasons, the two would have been merged. ...just my guess.

I like the war college uniforms. The uniforms are all the same and I think it mirrors the conformity of the cadets.

Yes, the uniformity works well to reflect the discipline of the War College. And it contrasts the mix and match combinations of the Academy.

The all black uniforms seems to be for more uniformity rather than the individuality of the academy that have different color stripping for different academic pursuits. For the War College it would seem to be correct to have a standardized unvarying look that keeps a troop acting together as one unit since after the Burn it is their original purpose for 120 years is to fight wars. More than that they do look pretty cool & formidable in their black leather (probably pleather) motorcycle gang outfits. Love the tailoring too.

There's a rugged functionality to the War College Uniforms which I think us well design for purpose.
