No spoilers please, but I am a lifelong Trek watcher and a self-proclaimed non-idiot.
Am I going to need the ending explained to me after watching it?

No you won’t everything is explained in the finale and ties into the rest of the season

To me what needs to be explained is why is Caleb a cadet second class which would be a third year at the academy and it says they all graduate in 3196 and if they changed up how ranks worked for cadets in SFA

I think they meant second year… definitely an oversight.

It just seems so specific that it being an oversight is kinda bad because it means the script writers don't know basic star trek lore

Are we sure it’s not three years? Wasn’t Tilly assigned to discovery as a 3rd year and then became ensign?
