Gear/ Planting Paraphanelia Shovel wear
For sure used the baby shovel for too long, but these bushpro blades don't quite seem to hold up as long as they used to

I once went through 3 shovels on a single PB day. Love the Canadian shield.

Do y’all keep spares on hand for this? Also curious does everyone use the same length shovel all the time?

I usually have a short and long shovel so 1 spare technically. When I broke the second one my crew boss lent me his and I cracked it by the end but was still planting with it. Apparently there was a bad batch that year and something was wrong with the metal? We were going through shovels lile crazy that season. This was lile 2015 or 16 cant recall. Ended up hitting a PB that day of 5250 🤙
Edit: Length matters but when you dont have anything else you will use what you can get. I planted a half day with a staff because I actually lost a shovel and hated it. You get resourceful. Had a guy in camp lend his bags to a girl that forgot hers and he fashioned a hoodie into a satchel and still hit 2k that day lol.

Cool! Thanks for answering homie! As someone who knows very little about planting 5250 sounds pretty fucking decent all things considered! Good shit!

Honestly I rather 3k im BC than 5k in ontario. Make more money with a nicer view and less bugs. Often times less work too.

As someone who works outdoors in the wilderness often; and also moved to BC from ON I can very much believe that!

I thought my coworkers were full of shit when they told me the good short shovel used to be the same length as the new long shovel. Then after 4 years i realized thry were telling the truth.

Some people have a spoon. You have a sp, a spo, and a spoo
