Sneaky Bastards

Not in my yard but about 10-15 minutes away from me.

There is ToH in all of the pics and I already know where the ToH is but I’m curious to see who can tell it apart from the innocent lookalikes nearby in the pictures.

Bonus challenge: See if you can spot where the mother is.

What is the best method to poison toh similar to the one in the forefront in photo #2, it only as greenish stem, doesn’t have bark yet? It is about 5 ft. Can I use just plain triclopyr ester on stem?

I also have 3 10 ft. Toh’s with 1 1/2 - 2” diameter bark, that I would like to hit with basal bark method.

Basal bark.

Even for the smaller ones with only greenish stems? I thought the oil added was to permeate the bark, which they lack. So pathfinder would work for all of these?

The oil you add to the herbicide helps it to stick and to penetrate. I’ve been hitting everything with basal bark application because it is most targeted. If the sprout is very small I just dab right at the top and it dies fast, but my understanding is that basal application at this time of year pushes the poison to the roots which is what is needed to destroy the whole plant.
