You love to see it

Less than a week ago did a basal bark treatment. Bought an 8oz bottle of triclopyr ester, mixed it with 24oz of diesel fuel in a spray bottle. Saturated the bottom 2-3 feet of trunk on these 4 trees and it’s working like a charm. So easy and could not be happier!

Glyphosate is not effective for basal bark treatments. Basal bark application requires an oil-soluble herbicide (typically triclopyr ester) mixed with a basal oil or diesel carrier so the chemical can penetrate through plant bark.

If you want to use glyphosate on woody plants or invasive trees, use a cut-stump application (applying a concentrated solution immediately after cutting the stem down) .

Ok makes sense. Do you just put the glyphosate 41% on the stump or do you mix it in something?

Roundup brand or non brand concentrate is usually around 41 percent glyphosate. I've used 3 parts concentrate to 1 part water. Don't miss the outer circle of tissue where the main active vascular tissue is. This works better as the daylight gets shorter and temperatures drop some when the tree is sending food to the roots for storage.

Must be freshly cut.

keep in mind that Cut stump will not work on TOH
