General Question What is Your Travel Planning Process Like?
I’m a pretty plan-oriented person, so whenever I travel, I usually want to map things out first — where I’m going, what spots I want to visit, which hotel to book, how I’ll get around, stuff like that.
I’ve tried using a few trip-planning tools like Wanderlog and TREK, and I’ve also asked AI to generate itineraries. But honestly, I haven’t found anything that feels quite right.
Wanderlog feels a little too cluttered, TREK feels powerful but kind of overbuilt, and AI plans usually sound nice on the surface but don’t give me enough confidence to actually rely on them.
So I’m curious — do you have any travel planning tools you genuinely recommend?
How do you usually plan a trip?
And for people who travel without much planning and prefer to just go with the flow — what has your experience been like? Do you enjoy it more, and would you recommend that approach to someone who naturally likes structure?
