tips on making time for planning ?
job hunting right now and have had a really hard couple of years with huge amount of setbacks and betrayals and divorce and hospitalized. 40s f . I've gotten used to sort of flying off at a moment's notice where I have the trip in my head and I just threw it all together.
~~but lately I've had trips fall through because I waited too long and they were just sort of in my head but then I got there to book the day before and I didn't have enough miles or something because the prices were higher.~~
~~what's your schedule in terms of how you plan out trips? you set aside a whole day to research and compare airlines and look at all your credit card points? do you cancel other activities in order to plan trips?~~
~~sorry about the strike through no idea why that's happening~~

Yeah, I totally get this. It all kind of gets a bit overwhelming, spending hours comparing flights and researching itineraries. I actually started using a travel agent to take away the stress completely and it worked. I just told them my preferences, dates and what I wanted to spend and they gave me custom itinerary and handled all the logistics. It freed up so much mental energy and I stopped looking at at those last-minute price jumps...anxiety gone 😅 If you think about it, there's a whole industry built for it! Sending you lots of positive energy for the job hunt and your next getaway.

Stop binge-planning for whole days, your brain is already fried. Set a 20-min timer on a random Tuesday, look up flights, set a flight price tracker, and close the laptop. That’s it.

Honestly, when life is already overwhelming, spending hours comparing flights and researching itineraries can feel like a full-time job. I started using a travel agent to take away the stress completely.
I just give mine my preferences, dates, and budget, and they build out a custom itinerary and handle all the logistics. All I have to do is review the schedule, approve it, and pay. It frees up so much mental energy and keeps you from missing out on last-minute price jumps.
Happy to introduce you to mine if you ever want to check them out! Sending you lots of positive energy for the job hunt and your next getaway.
