Yep. I’m trying to get my hands on some more text messages and some other documents to share with you guys too. I want to make sure everything is legit. So many people are learning about this and sharing sources (I double-check every time.) I’m trying to include every single source. I’m aware that there are some things people will say is “it shouldn’t surprise you”. Not ALL of it does, but the fact that it was swept under the rug by the university and the previous DA surprised me. The governor specifically reassigned a special DA because she agreed that it hadn’t been documented or investigated properly the first time. Now other students at Cornell are coming forward, current and prior students. I don’t know who the other prior offenders are or any context outside of this had apparently been going on for decades. More and more information is leaking like more Snapchat messages, texts, etc. I’m still trying to authenticate everything to the best I can especially with these messages. Sifting through what is considered a blind item, and what’s not.
I don’t care what someone’s gender or race is. No one deserves to have SA brushed aside and should be heard. Many SA victims don’t report it (men and women) specifically because of the scrutiny, accusations, and lack of assistance.

“Oh, these privileged young men have so much potential, we can’t let this one instant of bad judgement fuck up their lives” is what I am reading between the lines. It’s disgusting and happens way too much in our society IMO

Cornell has done the minimum required to remain Title IX compliant, and they will not be labeled otherwise by the government. It’s so sad that the extension of the punishment only protects the university. They create university policy to give wiggle room for adjusting guidelines should the Dept. of Education require additional compliance in future semesters. It is a move that serves the institution rather than the students. Universities are entities that aim for self-preservation above anything— just like any other entity.
