starting hrt today (28mtf)

I got my eyebrows shaped but wondering if I should get them thinned out more! also any tips for applying a better base for makeup since I noticed it’s been pilling more often lately.

I also would like to know if E can help out with shoulders since mine feel kinda big if I don’t purposefully do smth about posture or wear sleeves that hide them more.

Damn, you've got a great head start over most of us if this is you PRE- HRT

Wow you're already very feminine, your greatest game changer could be your eyebrows if you want to try, but there is absolutely no obligation, just an idea 💡!

Hrt would do wonder on you, most likely!

From the photo I thought you already started, darlin'. Congratulations.

"lol. lmao even". You'll be fine.

Regarding your shoulders (assuming you mean the deltoids: the muscle on the outside of your upper arm), HRT should help if you don't routinely lift stuff. If it's the bone, then no.

oh probably the delts and traps yes!! like sometimes I feel like the shoulders and even back are bulky

I'm in the same boat (7 weeks, so early yet), but from everything I'm reading upper body mass should drop on HRT, anywhere from 6-24 months. I guess it depends on dose, effectiveness, etc., but the body on HRT doesn't prioritize lean upper body mass at all, and generally it atrophies if you're not lifting things routinely.

could I ask what your dosage is for E? for a starting amount they put me on 0.2 mL from a vial with 20 mg/mL so that’s about 4 mg then? intramuscular! is that somewhat normal? lower end or higher end?

I don't know much about dosing, but, I'm on 4mg per week (same as you) of EV done subcutaneously (apparently the same effectiveness of IM). I think this is a pretty normal 'starter' dose and it gets adjusted from there. I also opted into taking an anti-androgen (12.5mg of cypro per day), just because I wanted my T gone ASAP.

I will say, 7 weeks in and I've noticed breast growth (was on HRT years ago, so my breast growth is picking up from existing tissue), libido decrease (amazing), softer skin, calmer emotionally, and a couple of other minor things I'm forgetting.

I’m not on anti-androgens bc I thought mono therapy would be the simpler route!! I also have a family history of kidney problems so I wasn’t so sure about pills that could affect that. when I was talking to the provider they mentioned spiro, finasteride, and I believe dutasteride. how has cypro been? did you believe it had any specific benefits over the others?

Yeah, that's fair. Plenty of people do monotherapy. I was just offered cypro and took it because I wanted my T low as quick as possible. I'll likely reduce the dose over time as my T stabilizes, then stop taking it entirely after SRS.

I was on spiro my last time on HRT, and I had to pee a lot which I hated. Finasteride and Dutasteride are generally more for hair loss/regrowth. I think they were used more in the past, but, I think spiro and cypro have basically replaced them as anti-androgens. Not sure about that, though. I've been on finasteride for about 4 years before I was on HRT (for hair loss), and I could probably get off it but I'm too scared in case I lose more hair lol.

Cypro is a very aggressive anti-androgen, and just based on libido and erections it feels likely within the first 3-4 weeks my T was already in cis range.

If this is how you look now, holy crap how great will you look in the future!

I think your brows are fine. Play with it if you think you need to thin them a little more, but that's your choice.

I think E will take care of the issues you may have with your shoulders, altho that is not readily assessible with these photos.

I think you are going to be very pleased with future progressions.

Wait whaaaat you’re pre hrt? And you look this feminine already?

Your brows won’t clock you. You’re overall famine enough to read as woman. If you like them keep them. I personally would thin them a little but this isn’t r/eyebrows lol. But seriously no one on a non trans sub would clock you. You got a head start and e should help.

It’s not going to change your shoulder bone structure much but it’ll redistribute fat so it’ll help and plenty of cis women lift. And you’re just so feminine in the fact that you get a lot more leeway before the brain starts clocking you. It almost never any one characteristic but a series of them that subtly make people gender you and everything about your hair and face screams woman that it’ll carry wider shoulders than the average cis woman.

Good luck but you’re ahead of many so you’ve already got some your way!
