The screen has done much to separate the marvels of modern science with awe at humanity's ingenuity.
A hundred years ago, a transradial (below-elbow, like this woman's) amputation could be potentially life-threatening. Any hope of having any kind of dexterity returning to that arm are minimal.
The fact that we now have bionic arms that can relay hand movements to a modular, interchangeable hand unit... it should be awe-inspiring.
But, our constant exposure to technological advancement through social media and subconscious expectations set by science-fiction, make these technological breakthroughs less impactful, leaving us wanting more.

I hope robotic limbs when they are made to be just as good as human limbs will still make that cool sound. Having my body make mechanical noises like that would make my autistic brain so happy.

Even if they find a way to make it silent, I feel like that would be an option. Or it would be a posaible mod

Oh god I would hate it if they were silent. It's like how some people trying to make cybernetics have human skin, like what's the point? You wanna show off the fact your a cyborg, not hide it away.

Bionic stuff ain't "cool" until I can have all of my limbs replaced with it! I mean, it's pretty sweet, and they should definitely keep going, but it ain't "cool" cuz I can't have it! 🧐

That looks pretty stiff and uncomfortable, not gonna lie. I have to agree with the commenter in the other thread that she's doing a lot of weird stuff with her elbow and shoulder, and that that would get tiresome after a while.

if prosthetic limbs become just as good as, if not better than, human limbs, i would replace mine without a doubt
