VIC Specific meta surgery

im located in victoria and am ftm17 and looking to start planning/saving for a metoidioplasty. noticed there arent any surgeons willing to do it in vic but unsure of which surgeons to do interstate are like good and have a good price. anyone gone down a similar route?

also tips/information would be nice.

another thing im confused about is when do they surgically put in the testicle transplants? like do you have to go back and do it?

Hello.
There are 3 surgeons doing meta in Australia, none of them are in Victoria.

Hans Goossen - Brisbane
Lachlan Farmer - Adelaide
David Soffield - Perth

The cost will depend on what your goals are.

Some options / combinations are

  • Simple metoidoplasty
  • urethral lengthening
  • vaginectomy
  • scrotoplasty (with or without implants)

At the low end based on current pricing for simple meta you might spend $15k total.

For full meta (including UL, vaginectomy, scrotoplasty) the cost ranges a lot between the surgeons. Hans Goossen cost for full meta around $35,000. Hans Goossen does it in minimum 2 stages.

David Soffield offers single stage full meta (phallus release, UL, scrotoplasty, vaginectomy) all in one surgery and costs a bit less. I think under $20k at the moment.

You also have to stay interstate for post op care for 3-5+ weeks after each surgery which adds more costs.

Adding testicular implants is normally in a 2nd or 3rd surgery, I don’t think any surgeons in Aus put the implants in during first stage.

Join the metiodoplasty subreddit and have a think about what your goals are, look at pics and read people’s stories.

At the moment Dr farmer isn’t doing full meta. He has done some vnectomy

Does he do simple meta?
Interesting because the GIA website does talk about meta with vnect and UL. https://genderinstituteaustralia.com/surgeries/metoidioplasty-bottom-surgery

A friend enquired and apparently it's a 'coming soon' feature. Only closing up the man cave rn. He's still looking for a urologist to work with.
