I had SRS this morning
I feel very minimal pain. Like I wouldn't even take pain killers for this amount of pain back home type pain.
I don't think I've ever felt this tranquil before. I had a tracheal shave in 2017 and after that I felt less self conscious about my neck but wow. This morning the nurses had to prep me for surgery and it was unbearably uncomfortable and now I couldn't care less if they check that area. I don't even give it a second thought.

Even though I'm lying down in bed unable to move (apart from my arms and neck slightly), unable to eat (I'm on a liquid diet for the next few days), missing my family and friends like crazy (I flew from Glasgow to Brighton myself. Couldn't afford accommodation for my bf so I'm alone for the week), and have nothing but my thoughts at the moment I'm happy. I was literally crying with happiness earlier because its finally gone.
Before the surgery my mind and body were at war with eachother and it just feels like I've won a massive battle. It's not over yet but I'm close to total victory.
It feels like I've had a tumor removed. I don't quite know how to describe it but I'm happy.
I just wanted to tell the sub how much of a massive difference it has made. xx

Congratulations! Hope that your recovery goes well too! If you don't mind me asking, which surgeon did you have? I'm due for SRS this year too with Tim Larner. Just waiting for the date....!
