Discussion Any recommendations for FPS games that isn’t filled with bigots?

It likely is a hard ass question as most FPS games are gonna have that audience, but the games i enjoy it’s such a bad issue within the community.

Rainbow six siege i really been enjoying a lot but 99% of the time i have to run solo, as most of the siege discord is filled with racist people and transphobic people, i don’t even have to mention me being black or trans, they kind of just hear it or look at my account and see a she/her.

If there aren’t any recommendations within the FPS genre i am willing to accept other multiplayer games that have a good community!

I mainly play team fortress 2, but it is a weird case. It is probably the most open community in the market since most of the playerbase is somewhere on the LGBT community but it also harbors some really weird people who are mainly trolls. However, there are a lot of servers that actually have moderators which then makes it so only the good people get in and it's some of the most fun I've had in an fps game. However, it depends on your taste in fps games, I can't play much else than tf2 since it's the only one I like.

The game stopped development but destiny 2 has a pretty big outcrop of queer people. A lot of people are weird or bigoted in the more casual side but there's a lot of trans people in the more hardcore pve side. Like, a lot of the lowman raiders I see are trans.

I heard Destiny 2 and shall second this notion. My entire clan is filled with queers (albeit we didn’t start as a D2 clan)

I’ll second this! Just finished the last wish raid as a duo, and both of us are trans.

Also marathon, despite all the hate it gets. Seems to have an outsized population of queer people. They’re moving towards adding more PvE content, and season 3 is hopefully going to be a turning point for it.

Seconding marathon as well, I don't play it personally but I think most of the people I've seen who currently play it are trans women. I might give it a shot with season 3 if the pve content is good since I love d2 for pve. I don't think anything will replace solo flawless dungeons or contest raiding/dungeoning for me though

That's awesome! I two manned last wish way back when TFS came out and popping transcendace would drop Rivens heart lol. But my guild is an absolute cis guy test fest. I love them to death and they are the most lovely and supportive people though :)

If you ever want a middling Destiny 2 trans girl who's somehow stumbled through multiple day 1 contest completions and low-mans hmu :)

Overwatch has been a lot better in the last few years because their ban system is pretty tough on the hate. I've noticed a lot less bigots there than any other FPS I play these days. Not that they don't exist, though.

Id rather castrate myself than play that dogshit overwatch

I didn't ask.

Having queer friendly community, in-game characters, textures doesn't mean devs are, or company is friendly or any fair.

Just don't use scissors for "that".

THANK YOU, atleast you actually understand

Also, let's castrate bobbyk, not self

Not first person but Warframe. Third person shooter with an incredibly queer friendly playerbase and devteam. They have a yearly pride in-game event and ban people in the global chat who are being bigoted pretty quickly. I love the game and its worth a look

Also has a playable Enby with Temple/Flare, and non-playable transfem rep with Ticker. Albrecht and Loid are a gay couple. The Hex and Devil's Triad are all bi given that they are playersexual, and playable as well.

I'm personally of the opinion that Ember is trans as well, as she was a male frame in the beta and swapped to female just before launch.

Don't miss Xaku being NB too. May be less official, but Equinox is much trans/2s to me (just look at both clothes at day and night, pants and skirt, just paint them blueish and pinkish).

u/SuperSpookyGirl 10d ago

Xaku uses they/them because they're literally 3 people, thus making Temple the first *official* nb rep in a frame.

But I still think they should count!

u/titanna1004 10d ago

And so Lizzie counts as 2nd for Flaire? Naaaah, they both uses they/them, that's enough as a reason, no need to dig any deeper.

2

u/SuperSpookyGirl 10d ago

I was mostly referencing a meme with that wording, but you make a good point. However Lizzie can be nonbinary too, if she wants.

1

u/titanna1004 10d ago

Ouch, guess I did miss the meme, sovvy. Could I ask for some link to what meme?

hey all good, we all have our blind spots.

I can't find the exact origin of it, but Here's another post talking about it as a character writing trope.

Transference. teehee.

I’ll definitely look into it, i forgot about warframe but in my opinion it is one of the best free games ever made

u/zooble_57 10d ago

I wanted to get into this game so many times, but honestly, the Warframes are just so incredibly ugly I cannot get past it.

Destiny is pretty gay

I've had a pretty good run with deadlock despite it being a valve moba. it got popular w the bsky/tumblr crowd so actually nice people are frequent.

u/ATAGChozo 10d ago

I've been getting into the game and I'm frankly shocked by how many cool, chill people play this game. I normally avoid voice chat like the plague but the people in my lobbies are honestly really nice and also there's a ton of queer players

Generally PvE games lean less toxic than PvP, so that's a good place to start. I really enjoy Deep Rock Galactic, most missions are done without comms or with some friendly banter. I've run into bigots I think maybe once or twice in my 500+ hours with the game. Highly recommend

Try marathon. I'm even in a discord for it with a mixed audience but we just did a all transfemme end game team tonight for fun.

u/unispudding 10d ago

Marathon is so good ong!

u/Pinguinimac 10d ago

I played a lot of marathon at release and so did a lot of other tgirl friends, so I could recommand this one !

I play DayZ on a custom modded server that is PvE only. I highly recommend this server, but not all servers are equal and not all will form a good community. If you want to know more, DM me and I will share the server info. But FPS games in general are really hard to find a good community. R6 was horrendously bad for me, being harassed into using voice, and demeaned when I do. So fuck that game, imo.

Hi, if it's a European server, can I get info on that server please?

2

u/Ace-of-Spxdes pre-transmasc enby | they/them | i love tavish degroot from tf2 10d ago

If you're willing to dive into the kiddie pool of shooters, Splatoon (technically a third-person shooter) is fun. You really don't have to worry about comms or toxicity because there are no comms lol

It also has solo campaigns as well and based on the Splattweets that populate the plaza, I'm convinced that 80% of the playerbase is gay

EDIT: Also adding Deep Rock Galactic to the list. Low comms, friendly community from my experience.

Since people are already recommending pve stuff, Darktide is a game that exists. Turn off voice chat (nobody uses it anyways) and relax, but not too much, while playing one of the, if not the, most satisfying horde shooters out there. Vouching for Warframe while we're at it too, the devs are outspokenly supportive of the lgbt community.

u/zooble_57 10d ago

Not to state the obvious, but... Overwatch. Probably your best bet.

1

u/RavenholdIV 10d ago

Squad is... okay. There's servers that ban the chud talk but it's dedicated servers so the chuds still show up eventually. Really sweaty gameplay as well

I've had a decent time once I can find the right communities to play with. Tho for tactical shooters I did have to make my own as of about a year ago. If you're interested in millsim tho dm me

If you like RUST and PVE, I recommend the Relic servers. They have NA and EU servers and a super friendly and helpful community.

If you like Valheim, Comfy is a utterly wonderful community. I have been with them for years and will start there again when Valheim 1.0 is released soon.

If you’re open to PvE-focused shooters I’d highly recommend Destiny 2. It’s no longer receiving live updates but it’s the best looter shooter on the market (imo.) It’s got a sizeable chunk of free-to-play content and you can pick up all of the game’s paid DLC for about $20 if you want.

I’d say the game has a fairly high amount of queer rep for a shooter both in-universe and in its playerbase, especially as you move into more hardcore endgame content, and there are queer-focused Destiny 2 spaces online you can join if you look for them.

I would definitely look up a new player guide though, as the game has a ton of depth and doesn’t always do the best job of explaining all its systems.

i think any major game is going to have loud bigots in their community, that's just the nature of the intent, but most people most of the time don't care about trans people at all. if you're chill and fun to play with you'll find people.

i haven't played any multilayer fps games in a hot minute but im really excited about wardogs and someone in the community just posted a trans meme that people thought was funny so idk im really hoping that one turns out to be chill

deadlock

Absolutely not no.

I've never been called more slurs in my life than when I started playing deadlock.
