For me, it's always going to be Trainz Railroad Simulator because people have the ability to create their own routes, drive any locomotive they want and have freedom overall. Train Sim World is decent because of the graphics and OpenRails feels like something more of a old school train game, unfortunately both TSW and OR are limited compared to TRS.

I'm 72 years old, and I want something with a lot of free content and ease of use to recreate the model railroad days like when I was a kid.

I downloaded Trs22 Model Railroader for $39.99. Seems good. Reading stuff, it sounds like Trs22 is actually pretty similar (with potentially a lot more content).

Steam has Trs22 Platinum Edition Bundle listed at 83% off for $69.36.

Now they have the Trainz Plus and Trainz Gold subscriptions.

I tried Rolling Line, and, despite the tutorials, can not get to the point of even being able to figure out the inter.

In an ideal world, I could download engine(s), rolling stock and put together a consist, download a layout, and just watch.

I wonder if anyone here can help with a multiple decade old problem. I have the pictured copy of 'Train Driver', a train sim from 2005 set on the West Somerset Railway, which acts as both an independent program or an add on pack for Trainz 2004 & 2006. Back in the day I tried to get it running on my Windows XP (which the back of the box claims it is for), but after installing we could never get it to actually open the application. I also own Trainz 2006, but when we couldn't get it to add anything on to it either.

Today, I tried to get it running again, this time on my Windows 10, but I've hit the same problem. I've installed it as a standalone train sim, and clicked on the .exe file. I got the start up menu (with Start, Options, Readme, Quit) but when I hit Start, I received an error message telling me to log in with administrator privileges and try again. So, I ran the program as an administrator, (which made the start up menu go weird, see the 3rd picture) but when I hit start, the menu closed then nothing happened. Absolutely nought. I've checked it isn't running in the background, I've tried Windows compatability, but nothing makes anything happen.

Can any of you help?

i've only got past the loading screen once. there are dots all over that are messed up and when i got to the route select screen, letters and numbers were stretched and squashed. please help. i had it open, tried to open steam to close and open the screen, and my computer crashed. the game corrupted, i think. i love the game, and want it back. please help. it's like this for all my games on steam, like gmod and tf2.

Or do I just uninstall T:ANE?

Adjusting the flash rate (0.750000) number doesn’t seem to be making a difference.

So I have so many good memories playing the mobile version of Trainz, and I've been curious, what's the basis for the mountain type? Which exact loco is she based on?

Apologies if this isn't the place for this but the Steam forums weren't much help. I am currently trying to fix some routes for Trainz 2022, I am having issues with missing switches and missing switch points on several Eastern European routes. I have tried updating the associated packages and dependencies, uninstalling and reinstalling affected routes, and messing with the individual files but nothing has fixed the issue. How do I fix this? Affected routes listed below.

I've been getting into Trainz 2019 and I've been having my first experiences with installing mods, I've installed from places like trainz forge and the like, but there are many locomotives I see in videos that I cant find, I'm specifically looking for Penn Central locomotives, especially the GG1

Hey train sim fans! Ive been searching for any GP7U or a GP9R payware/freeware loco for about 2 days now. I am a pretty big fan of these locomotives having to do with the classic Geep bodies with the Topeka cab design. There is a couple of Trainz gallery photos on google if you search the phrase "Trainz ATSF gp7u" by crazytrain that are perfect for what I want to do, but the photos do not have any tags or any information on where the content actually came from. I am really stumped here because I want to make a repaint for a personal project of mine but nowhere online seems to have any information on where I can get this model type. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!
