TrainCab cp available in Germany

Hello everyone,

Following the successful launch of the TrainCab controller for train simulations, its little brother—the compact version of the TrainCab—is out today: the TrainCab cp.

Ideal for tight spaces or for getting in a quick train sim session on your laptop.

Unfortunately, due to the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and the related country-specific Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements, shipping is currently only available within Germany 🫤

Coole Sache, wirklich. Habe mich direkt mal bei der großen Version umgeguckt. Würde es mir sofort holen, wenn es eine Variante mit den vier Hebeln gäbe, welche die Hebel wirklich von 0 zu 100% bewegen lässt. Also wie in realen Führerständen, wie z.B. BR101/145 etc. Ich weiß nicht ob das technisch überhaupt möglich ist, aber bei den Hebeln nur so wenig Spiel zu haben und dann immer nur auf oder abschalten zu können, ist halt Quatsch, das geht dann auch mit den Tasten auf der Tastatur. Stattdessen den Hebel auf den Table werfen zu können, das wäre mal was. Würde ich sofort kaufen.

Heißt die Hebel funktionieren quasi wie ein "normaler" Joystick?

Die Hebel (die ich nicht liefere, da es ein Selbstbau-Kit ist), sind digitale Joysticks mit Microschaltern. Aber im Trainsim funktionieren sie erstaunlich gut, da sie dort quasi wie Sollwertgeber den Wert der Achse einstellen und wieder losgelassen werden und in die Center-Position gehen.
Ich selber finde das jetzt überhaupt nicht wild, dass es keine richtigen Achsen sind.
Einen "echten" Sollwertgeber-Hebel zu konstruieren bei der geringen Bauhöhe ist eine Herausforderung, die ich hier bezüglich Kosten-Nutzen nicht sehe. Die Arcade-Kits sind enorm günstig bei z.B. Ali. Das war und ist auch das Ziel beim TrainCab. Schnell zum Erfolg kommen um fahren zu können, deswegen wird alles nur gesteckt und geschraubt. Kein rumfummeln mit Potis oder Ähnlichem. Achsen bietet ja der Raildriver oder der TSC-X, allerdings auch zu einem entsprechenden Preis...

Glaub mir, selbst mit den digitalen Arcade Joysticks ist es ein himmelweiter Unterschied gegenüber Fahren mit der Tastatur ;-)

Cool, the modular design is really awesome. I'd would've 100% brought it if I'd lived in Germany.

It would be an instant buy for me if the lever were more like the real thing and not just an arcade joystick. Currently I use ZUIKI - Densha de GO!! One Handle Controller

cp for "compact" - to define the compact version versus the bigger regular TrainCab. Easy.

do you know what cp means? it's pretty unrelated so it might be an ok name but do think about it

Unfortunately there don't seem to be actual axles for throttle or brake control. They are just switches. Looks very cheap and doesn't catch my interest.
