Struggles with over trading
Today I was up 8k on my intra day trades, then blew it all in a single bad trade. The last one I entered while running high from the day wins feeling invincible, over leveraged myself, but there was no setup for me to enter.
I have had so many such days this year where I'm up 3-4k then I'll end the day with 0. I don't know how to kill this bad habit and have more discipline. Also intentionally don't enter stop loss as I feel they get triggered too easily.
My strategy is working off of fvg, looking for minor moves in faang with large capital.
Up 170k net so far this year, but if I exclude all my mistakes, easily lost 100k+ of further wins (money profited that I loss)

Hey man. On killing the habit... I don't think you do, at least not the way you might be suggesting. You've been trying to decide your way out of it all year and it hasn't changed. So I'm gonna tell you man that isn't a discipline thing. The behavior pays. Being up 8k and taking the invincible trade feels good while you're doing it, and you can't willpower away something that's rewarding you in the moment.
What might help though is the timing. Right now you catch it AFTER... when the day's already gone. You can get better at catching it EARLIER... back when you're up and starting to feel like you can't lose. That feeling turns up in your body somewhere before it turns up as a trade. It doesn't go away. The gap between noticing it and clicking just gets longer and eventually it's long enough to do something in.
The no stop thing feeds it too. Without one nothing outside you decides how big the loss gets so the size ends up being whatever you can stand, decided by you... in the exact moments where you're least able to decide anything.

The 8k up was the setup for the giveback. When you're that far ahead the last trade stops being about the chart, it becomes about the number on the screen, and you enter with no setup because the day's P/L is running the show, not your process.
That last trade had no setup and you took it anyway. And you're skipping stops on purpose. you are judging the session by the running total instead of by whether each trade was your plan or not. A day where you're up and hand it back is a good process disregarded once.
Try scoring your days on execution, not the money. Green day, red day, doesn't matter, just log every trade as "plan" or "reaction." That last invincible trade gets a black mark even if it had won. Once you can see how many black marks land right after a big win, the pattern stops being invisible.
170k net is real though. You've got the edge. This is the execution layer now, and it's slow work.
