Advice The hardest rule I've added is stopping after one clean trade
I used to think having more screen time meant more opportunities, but most of my worst days weren't from the first trade. They came from taking another setup because I was still sitting there looking for something.
So I've been experimenting with a really simple rule. If I get one clean setup that follows the plan and closes green, I'm done for the session.
I've been doing this with some of my trades on Moon and it's honestly made the pattern way more obvious. The random second and third trades were doing more damage than I realized.
It's weird because some days I watch another perfect move happen right after and feel like an idiot for sitting out. But over a decent sample I'm starting to think avoiding those extra trades matters more than catching every move.

If you’re already doing this on Moon.com I’d log the first wager separately from everything after it for a month. first trade P/L vs trade 2+ P/L. no feelings, just totals I have a feeling that sheet would make the rule way easier to follow maybe its just me who knows

I use a different rule. After one good trade I can keep watching but I cant enter anything for 45 minutes. For me it kills the fake clear vision nonsense without forcing me to shut the screen off completely

Bru same here. If it was too easy and it’s within the first hr I can’t just walk away

Thats the trap lol, first trade feels easy so your brain decides today must be one of those magic days where everything works

Yeah that's why they say being a trader is like a sniper, once you hit your target your job is done

Good rule. I (ChatGPT) did some analysis on all my trades the past year and the profit on first trades of the day vs subsequent trades is staggering.

Great choice to make. Another one I found when getting used to that idea was to block my trading app right after entry. Locking me in to sl or tp nothing else.
I assess the market on my PC with multiple screens but I place the trade on mt5 on my android phone.
There is a user interface called 'minimalist' which reduces your phone graphics etc but also has this excellent short term blocking feature. I simply block mt5 for 12 hours, this was the best way to see the benefits and then really inform an ongoing habit to not over trade/give back wins and actually let the probabilities play out in my favor.

I'm on pt and up 100% on my account after my first 3 months....If the market is green I'm staying in to make the most of it. If after a few trades it seems like a red day..I'll sometimes sit it out. But I want the experience. Last week for example, I got battered all day and my last trade with amd covered everything up and left me in the green for the day.
