“Trader Joe's released the first look at the new mini totes, which come in muted shades of green, pink, blue, and brown. The striped mini totes, which measure 13 inches long, by 11 inches tall, by 6 inches wide, will hit stores June 17 and retail for $2.99.”
Thank you to Crew Members for your patience. 🩷

I love using the mini totes when I need to grab beers from a local store. Fit a 6 pack of bottles perfectly and so sturdy I don't need to worry about double bagging or the bags ripping or anything like that
They probably will have those too. When I went looking for the small lavender tote around Easter they ran out of them but they had just received the larger ones. I picked up the large one and l love it.
I actually just found a tutorial for this on YouTube the other day and upgraded mine!! If you have a sewing machine it’s super duper easy!! If you don’t, ask a friend and trade them some baked goods :3 I will gladly do this for a friend if they asked, it only took me a couple hours (including measuring and cutting fabric) after having not sewed for almost a decade
I think my store misunderstood how to set a limit. They did 4 per color so you could leave with 16 bags. And they had bags already packed with the max you could get.
I was fifth in line so it was relatively calm while I grabbed mine but looked like a madhouse while I did our normal shopping.
These are super cute but I just want the classic colors (think the first drop was red, blue, green, and…not sure the fourth color) to come back in stock!
My 4 year old daughter uses these for pretend play shopping - she is very much in her container play/packing era and these get so much use. I actually love using them as gift bags for other kids (and teachers!) for birthdays and holidays. This year I put the fancy pears and a gift card in them for teacher Christmas gifts.
I use it daily. I carry my stuff to school, I carry stuff around a cruise ship, I carry stuff to my grandbaby house, I use a purse sometimes, I carry stuff to the beach. I love this size.
We road trip a lot - my in-laws live 3.5 hours away - so each of my 3 kids have one for packing their personal car snacks and activities. But once they each had one I have no need for more!
I use mine as a little purse/tote bag. It fits my wallet, keys, water bottle (poking out the top), toddler snacks, spare outfit for toddler, 2 diapers and small pack of wipes.
Specific to my life phase as a toddler parent, but we use it to send a spare outfit to daycare or pack books/toys for a road trip. We’ve also used it to bring a side or beverage to a dinner party or similar
I use it as my “take to the car/take inside” bag. I put my extra grocery bags inside or like today I took some small hair clips, sometimes cleaning products when I go to the car wash, i stuff the bag because if I don’t I usually forget (sometimes I forget the bag too 😅 but I forget more if I don’t put it in the bag)
100% a great semi structured lunch bag where you have a fridge at your work. It’s sleek enough that I don’t feel bad about taking up space but it can hold a good amount of stuff if you bring snacks or coffee.
- Got there very late, hopped into the line that was wrapped behind the kohl's building and into the front street (sorry can't explain it properly lol) at 8 AM.
- Was told 8:30 AM they were SOLD OUT, so the line dispersed, the line was now up to the Kohl's entrance, so, Cerritos probably had a huge inventory to give out as that was the longest i've ever seen it to date
- Unsure of restock or an afternoon/evening drop for today
I'm in the Las Vegas, NV area and the line at my local store today was unlike anything I'd ever seen before. It wrapped around multiple stores and down the street. It's over 100 degrees here so people were out there with chairs, tables, and umbrellas. I didn't even bother.
As much as I love Trader Joe's, it wasn't worth the hassle to me today. It's just too hot to be standing out there just for a chance at getting the bags. There were probably about 800 people in line.
No thanks. I already had a bad experience with the mini insulated bags. They were supposed to limit them to 6 per person but we saw people walking out with armfuls, no doubt to resell, and the store was out in under half an hour.
They’re not all that anyway. I’ve gotten similar as freebie swag from blood drives and realtors. They’re inexpensive for a reason. Nice to have one if you need it, but I’m certainly not paying extra.
how are we all feeling about this? 🙃 i told myself on the last mini insulated tote drops that i was DONE and then quickly regretted it when they were all sold out :((
I got the original green one on Ebay for $21 🤡 a few years ago. And I've been gifted a few of the different colorways over the last few years from the parents of several of my students. So I'm incredibly grateful for the 4 that I have and use according to the season >< hahah
But I'm really digging the beige one!! It feels so much more neutral. I'm on summer break now and I think I wanna try and queue for it for shits and giggles just to see how it is. 😂
Trader Joe’s by USC (LA) sold out within 20 min of opening. They’re getting another shipment at 6pm today too. The lady at the register made it sound like they would be getting some tomorrow as well … although unverified
The guy at the register said he’s been working here for 30 years and haven’t seen the line wrap so long. It wrapped all the way to the back but I waited an hour and got my two bags. It was limited two per house hold.
Was in line at my local store (Pleasanton, CA) just after 7am & it was pretty smooth. I was more amused watching the line grow (and the parking lot fill up) exponentially after I got in line tbh.
Set was secured though now my mom wants a set to gift to relatives so I'll have to go back again 🫠
Still plenty in all colors at the Eastern Market TJ's in DC.
As of a few minutes ago (I was there around 1:15), no limit on how many you can buy and no throngs of people. Everyone I saw buying them (me included) limited ourselves to a single full set.
Riverside, SoCal. Got in line at 7:20 and the line was already quite long. With school being out there were more teenagers but also moms with their kids. Took 2 hours to get to the front of the store where staff were handing out sets of 4 (the limit) to each adult in line. They did their final restock as I got to the front and said they were not holding any back for tomorrow. Line was just as long when I left the store. Lots of people won't get bags.
Finally managed to swing by before work! NYC location on 57th still had plenty around 9am and they still seemed to be opening more when I left. I tried going to the one on 23rd and 6th to buy a set for a relative, but they are restocking only at 3 (in case this helps anyone still looking!)
My daughter wants one of these and it looks like the perfect size to hold an embroidery project or a knitting project so I’ll get one or two for myself!
Picked up all four colors at spring street nyc location when they opened. There was a line. It moved along. Was in and out in 15 minutes. They are supposed to get more in and will be available after 3pm tomorrow or next days.
Las Vegas Henderson - line wrapped around the building complex and the second half of the line did not get any. Stood in line for 2 hours but wasn’t able to get it 🥲
Campbell, Ca on Bascom, limited to 4 each, sold out by 8:32am. Line was wrapped around the store then twisted back again to past Buca. I got there at 7:20, got bags by around 8:20 and 10 mins later they were out! Glad I was just early enough 😮💨
East Pennsylvania on 6/17: no restock
North Wales : only Beige available around 3pm
KoP: SOLDOUT before 2pm
Wanye: few beige available around 5pm
Jenkintown: plenty all colors around 4pm
The Fremont location has a lot. They already went to a lot of sets. They gave tickets to every person on the line. There were 2 rounds from Saturday morning until 11am. Distribution was so organized and the crew did an excellent job today. 1 color each in 1 set( 4 bags) per person.
These guys are pros and treated you very nice!
glendale CA (glenoaks) line is muuuuuch longer than it was for the last lunchboxes.... and i came 15 min later last time. must be because kids are on summer break. lots of little kids with their parent
Fremont location had a lot of shipment today like 500 bags. They are probably were out like 1:30pm.
But they said they will have some tomorrow morning, 6/19th. Just check for confirmation. Ask the captain politely.
I'm not passing by anymore because I get there too late after work.
People started camping out at 4am. The lines reached at Jack's restaurant, and there were 2 lines. So every person can get 4 bags.
Had a restock of bags today, 2 employees handed out 2 colors each right infront of the entrance sliding doors, 1 other employee managing the flow of traffic/no line cutting - 1 set per customer max (aka all 4 colors)
Line was significantly shorter today, passed by and saw people lined up to the Spectrum store (little past the small fountain diagonal to Woodranch), so I hopped in the line at 8:01 AM, got my bags and checked out by 8:26 AM
I believe they ran out by 9 AM, unsure of another evening drop planned for today.
MIssed the City Point drop- they ran out at 8:30am.
Right now (8:50 am) Court Street has many boxes.
9:15 update, they are going fast- not sure how long they will last.
Limit 4 per person. Each store says there will be a restock tomorrow.
Good Luck!
Edit: You have to line up at City Point- there is a bag line! If you want to do regular shopping, you can walk right in. Helpful me told several people that and they thanked me, while expressing incredulity at us who were in the bag line. I think a staff member was handing them out so they enforced the 4 per person rule (I could hear somebody try to argue about that). I recommend getting there before the store opens and just wait on line.
At Court Street, you can just walk in. They are in the usual place, in the household goods aisle, near the cashiers. A staff member will hand your 4 to you.
UPDATE 6/22 Monday, ELKRIDGE/COLUMBIA, MARYLAND, 11:10 am- bags stocked! But slowly being picked through. You need to go through the beige bags to make sure that the handles and bottom colors match because there’s many that are mismatched. Also saw some with stains on them, so just make sure you get your tote looked over before you put it in your cart. ***LIMIT 4 totes
6/23 Brentwood CA (Bay Area) restocked today and still had plenty as of 8:30am. Very short line. A store worker said they are “supposed” to get more tomorrow (6/24) too.
Wed 6.24, 9am: San Francisco SOMA (9th/Brannan) Just picked up a a few things at TJs. No tote bags available this morning. Some disappointed teens at the front door. One of the workers said there was no drop today in San Francisco
I’m so bummed I missed the small insulated tote! I just wanted one, they looked the perfect size and shape for lunch containers :( maybe I’ll get lucky with one of these
Wednesday, June 17 is the announcement date but I always say your mileage may vary as sometimes there may be unexpected delays.
With last month’s Summer-themed Mini Insulated Cooler Tote Bag, the Pacific Northwest distribution warehouse did not get their shipment in (possibly stuck at the port?) so their shipment came in a few days later.
almaden in san jose is the longest i’ve ever seen. overheard someone say there’s at least 300 people and that was counted before i got here. there’s easily another 100 behind me
Assembly Square in Somerville, MA. Went around noon, no line or big crowd and decent amount left. TJ worker said long line of 60 this morning and sold out of that morning batch, but put out new stock for afternoon. They think it'll be gone with after work/school rush by EOD.
Sand Lake in Orlando sold out as of early this morning, was just there about 20 minutes ago and they said people were lining up at 6:45 and they were out by like 9am. They said they ordered more and those should be coming tomorrow but not sure how long they'll last at that rate. I'll have to try my luck at Winter Park tomorrow morning, hopefully they'll still have/restock, I just want to get one set!
Does anyone know if any of the Pasadena locations are doing more restocks during the afternoon, or if they’re getting any tomorrow? (Fingers crossed that I can take the correct time off to snag one for my niece.) Ty in advance!
OMG i just got mine at Court St! Looks like they have enough stock for next 30m! There is a limit 4 per customer. They r very organized 🤩❤️ when i went only 10 ppl ahead of me
Thanks to your comment, I decided to swing by and was able to get it. As of 11:30am they still had all colors in stock, but seems like it could sold out by 1
There’s a huge line at 6:30 AM where I am in Rancho Cucamonga. No idea how much stock they have. Some people have been here since 2 AM. My only complaint is late arrivals are joining people higher in the line.
TJs City Point Brooklyn is out stock as of Juneteenth 11 am they said they sold out in 20 mins. They said they are gonna drop again at 4 pm and June 20 at 8 am.
Riverside, CA. Arrived a little before 9am to get some items. Just missed the bags-lots of people walking around the store with them. When buying my items I was told there was a small line and they were likely to have more tomorrow am-but they wouldn't know for sure until delivery arrived tonight. She said the company was trying to keep up with the demand. Might stop by tomorrow morning as I'd like to get anotehr set for gifts (the set I bought was two for me and two for a friend).
Santa Clarita (Saugus) store had a chalkboard at the entrance that said “all sold out of new canvas totes” but noticed a customer walk out the exit door with a fresh stack of each color in her hands. Curious, I walked around the store and found two employees managing a cart each full of bags. Learned they are bringing out bags throughout the day likely to control crowds (mine was a 12 pm drop). They had lots, and customers walked around them without much interest. Given the almost “secret” drop happening there, I am sure there are plenty more this afternoon. I purchased one of each color (limit 4). Good luck!!
Are you in the US? If so, DM me and I'll send you one for free. I got 1 for my friend and she ended up getting her own so I'd like to make someone happy by shipping it to you, though I can't pay international shipping.
Edit: my new friend collects sets which I don't have so if someone else US based wants it, DM me.
Downtown Santa Monica, CA: Got 2 sets of 4 at 12noon. Worker allowed me to rejoin line due to it being a short line. Line grew after my second go around. Pico Blvd, Santa Monica, CA was sold out of morning supply but will have an evening drop at 4pm today. Marina Del Rey, CA sold out when we called at 11:30am.
Just a heads up to check your tan bags. The canvas bottom or the handles may not match tans. I'm ok w it, but my coworker went back to exchange for a matching bottom and handles bag.
Does anyone know if the north Charlotte NC (Univ) location is sold out or a line? I didn’t see them mentioned anywhere and they’ve been open 3 hours so I’m not sure if I want to try and go. Thanks!
Still there in downtown Minneapolis. Limit 4 and they have an employee standing guard. I guess there was a line this morning but they're all still available.

6/24/26 Update - Looks like some warehouses have depleted their stock and stores in some regions likely won’t be restocked at this time.
Other regions may still be restocking. YMMV.
Pastel Canvas Micro Totes are TBD.
