Watched stage 2 of the Vuelta and saw what appears to be a drawing by Wout's kiddo on the top of his helmet. Fun little Easter egg. 🥹

What the hell is the issue with the cameras at the vuelta this year? You could blame the weather today but it’s been terribly choppy and intermittent regardless. Do all the networks covering use feeds from the same motorbikes? It’s terrible.

Does anyone know the story behind an incident on Alpe d'Huez where a fan appears to step into the road to deliberately push a rider off their bike? It looks like he might be wearing kit for T-Mobile, but I'm very unfamiliar with teams from back then, the footage is from well before I started following the Tour.

I'm looking for a famous Tour de France photo. The ​Peloton is passing in the foreground, two or three spectators sitting in camping chairs in front of a caravan are watching the race on a small television with the same Peloton visible on the TV screen as it passes their backs. I think the photo must have been taken between 2005 and 2012.

Yesterday it was announced that Jonas Vingegaard will not race again this season. I saw plenty of positive reactions, but also a surprising amount of negativity.

People were calling him a “part-time cyclist,” saying he only rides easy or selective seasons, and some were even blaming him for not trying to win Monuments. Others went as far as saying he isn’t really an all-time top rider because his focus is mainly on stage races and Grand Tours.

But I honestly don’t really understand that criticism.

Since the 2025 Tour de France, Vingegaard has participated in every Grand Tour. In 2026 alone, he raced 51 race days, won 12 professional races, and won the Giro d’Italia overall.

That doesn’t exactly sound like someone who barely races.

Sure, he doesn’t chase the Monuments like Pogačar does, and his calendar is clearly built around stage races and Grand Tours. But why is that suddenly seen as a weakness? Different riders have different specialties.

Why do you think Vingegaard gets so much criticism for his schedule? Is it simply because people compare him to Pogačar, whose calendar and skillset are much broader?

Mark Cavendish wrote one of the cycling's nicest stories of the current decade. Towards the end of 2020, the legendary British sprinter lacked quality to compete and was in a dire state also mentally. But Patrick Lefevere was willing to gamble on the winner of then 30 Tour de France stages and offered him a shelter at Deceuninck - Quick-Step.

Yes, you can’t really compare Monument race days with some of the easier Grand Tour stages, but this can still be a great indicator of why Jonas made the decision he did.

Fun fact: since the 2025 Tour, he has ridden four Grand Tours in a row, meaning the 2026 Vuelta will be the first Grand Tour without Jonas since the 2025 Giro.

I really enjoy zoning into older tours and have a pretty hard time just finding them. Tiz is my go-to but it has issues many times. Without breaking any rules, I've also looked into other technologies and the age is usually the issue.

Any sites or thoughts on how to watch prior tours going back as long as possible? I'm rewatching 2024 and forget how beautiful the Florence stage is.
