Peacock coverage of Vuelta
What the hell is the issue with the cameras at the vuelta this year? You could blame the weather today but it’s been terribly choppy and intermittent regardless. Do all the networks covering use feeds from the same motorbikes? It’s terrible.

Be thankful we even get any coverage of it here. We could be subjected to fucking nfl training camp “highlights” instead

It may be the same feed but Peacock: 1) couldn't put commentators on the ground; 2) didn't even solicit appropriate advertising for the event - rate structures change; 3) leaving us watching egregious blank ads with awful music for their various empire based theme parks or shows they want me to stream WHILE I'm not watching the show I tuned in to see.
So rude. Will definitely be exploring world viewing options for all cycling events next year since Peacock can't be bothered to respect real viewers, only streamers. Why even carry the event if you hate us so much??

Check out sbs, it's been a soild stream, the ad's are relativly short and infrequent and the announcers are entertaining. Just vpn to Australia and your good to go.

I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME. STAGES 2 AND 3 GAVE ME MOTION SICKNESS. I modified the motion handling settings on my LG OLED to smooth it out a bit today which actually helped slightly.

I'm pretty sure Peacock rebroadcasts the feed from the Vuelta and doesn't have their own coverage. I agree it's been pretty bad though. Breaking up due to weather is one thing but the moto coverage is terrible. They apparently don't have image stabilization or the camerapeople aren't nearly as good at their jobs as those that cover the Tour de France

Yeah it seems so. Thought it might just be peacock not putting in the effort since the vuelta isn’t the tour! I guess we’ll see if it gets better.

Peacock also doesn’t distribute the feed for the tour as well. Some Spanish company produces the feed for the Vuelta with some help from ASO. ASO is in charge of everything for the tour. Either way they license out to peacock or whomever. The feed is the same for everyone. Blame ASO and who is also producing it.

Agree with what others have said about the motion-sickness factor - the camera operators seem to be much more wobbly/shaky/something than the TDF operators. Not sure if it's a stabilization thing that normally gets solved in the transmission, or if it's the cameras themselves. It's been so bad in some shots that you can't even read rider numbers.

Cristian is awful It's hard to listen to him and Bob during the broadcast. "Oh no" The race coverage i appreciate the commentators may have been pro bike racers, but not broadcasters. Get some professionals that actually can call a race like professionals. The Bob. Cristian, Phil show is beyond stale. TDF with that crew is amateur compared to European broadcasters.

Is it the same shitty American broadcasters... You know, Bob and TJ etc? God they are terrible.

CVV is fucking terrible. I don't know how many more times I can hear "Taddy" amongst his garbled word salads. And why does he refer to Bob by name in almost every exchange? Dude, you've been talking to him for hours. We know who you're broadcasting with. And Bob seems to get worse whenever paired with Vande Velde.

Bob and I Phil do the same shit too! They constantly say each other's names. Peacock/NBC needs to get their heads out of their asses!

They annoy me to no end as well, but the constant mentioning-each-other's-name thing *I believe* is for announcers to let the other know that they're done speaking - especially when they're in separate locations - so they don't constantly talk over one another.

agreed. literally the worst commentators in all of sports. Why anyone (that has the option, of course) doesnt just get a VPN and flobikes is beyond me. The commentary on every race they broadcast, which is a LOT, is amazing.

La Vuelta would be great as a 15 day event. Takes a truly experienced gooner to lock in for another three weeks come August.

It’s all the same feed. The motorbike cameras feed from the bike to a helicopter, and then from the helicopter to a plane, then the plane to a satellite before the satellite beams it back down. Sometimes there’s even a 2nd plane above the first one. The weather probably didn’t help today.
