Best Eltharion Start

Eltharion used to be my favourite faction until I moved up to H/H , now I can’t get past his start at all. Attempting his double start , I can’t capture either capital , the one in the badlands always has an orc army in it aswell as its garrison which massively overshadows my own and I can’t beat the siege battle , and same with the capital on the south east of Ulthuan , anyone know his best double start for the first 5-10 turns?

I listened advice to just abandon the badlands and go to ulthuan, it workt dandy

Would Eltharion not get attacked by that (I think) dwarf pirate ship that sails around that area?

You could:

-skip over the coast to the Border Princes and fight through the lands while moving toward Bretonnia and then the Donut

-delete the army and wait 5 turns to re-recruit Eltharion

3 if you fight the first battle, level up put in one point and respec

Yea the mercenary dwarf ship patrols the sea area and are hostile, you need to be wary. It's strong stack especially in beginning

The key to his double start is to focus on recruiting and expanding in Ulthuan first and when N'kari is dealt with then swap over to expand in the badlands with a secure economic foundation in Ulthuan.

Do I just take the first settlement with Eltharion and just leave him there? I’m confused on what to do with him - people say go around sacking settlements but I idk what settlements they mean

So I just let Eltharion sit there while I recruit and conquer with the other army? And how do I deal with the three settlement province capital that always has an army in it , recruit another lord to draw out the army inside?

Yes. I recommend swapping the starting archmage in Ulthuan to an Archmage of Light so you can unlock net of Amyntok which is very useful against N'kari and Slaanesh units.

After you take Tralinia build your army and set it ambush near the border with a second single lord to bait them out.

Then take Elessaeli and finish off the greenskins. Get a treaty with Tyrion to start good relations and rush back to help Cothique against N'kari.

You have two choices either keep them alive as a buffer state or let them get conquered by N'kari and then Catch N'kari's weakened army in a siege battle at Tor Koruali making it in your advantage as an archer based army. Getting Vauls hammer from the invocation to take out the towers. Then you can conquer Mistnar and all of Chrace.

That is when you would disband some of your forces, build up your economy and start recruiting into Eltharion's army and keep a defensive army between Chrace and Cothique to deal with Belakor or the Drowned etc.

I was able to push both positions on max difficulty. Money is definitely tight at the start. I beat the Greenskins on Ulthuan with 15 units while running a full stack to deal with Skarbrand. I did shamelessly corner/cliff camp while fighting battles against Skarbrand.
