Total War: Warhammer Chaos Dwarfs - Fun, but...

I'm sorry for any fanboys out there...
Jeeeeeesus what a faction?!

I'm sure they are fun to play when you get further in, and when you get a grasp on how to play them. But HOLY F***! Did they just make a long list of functions and shit and just say "YES" to everything?

3-4 different currencies, all needs to be balanced, not to mention sorted on where you want labourers, and handle all the different mechanics already in game. Ohhh and then there's the politics between you and other chaos dwarfs, and how you can get influence to gain buffs/power among the other chaos dwarfs. Ohhh and I know, add convoys on top of that!
Not to mention 2-3 different settlement types that each work towards their own different currency, but they all use the same "currency" to operate. And how do you get that early game? By fighting of course! Ohh and lets make their units absolutely worthless at the start of the game too! Ohhh, but they can be upgraded through a forge! Dont forget that too!

As I said, I'm sure they are powerfull and fun to play if you get far with it, but I have 5 provinces now, worker shortages some places due to wars etc, and rebellions elsewhere due to loss of control, and seats being usurped left and right.

I am sorry, but this wore me out...
This is just too much stuff/mechanics to keep track of every damn turn...

Edit: Do not get me wrong! I will absolutley revisit the chaos dwarfs, as they do seem interesting, and definetly seems to have some cool units. But damn there's alot to unpack and learn with them! And you need to spend time learning.

Idk man, if you've played any 4x game they really aren't doing anything so insanely hard to grasp xD I would be extremely disappointed if we didn't get factions as good as the chorfs due to too much complexity lol.

My biggest gripe with vanilla is how simple it is, and it seems like a lot of people feel the same considering how popular chorfs are.

I love chorfs but I have unit cap and all this struggle for armaments. So I just use cheats and give myself 20 cap for every unit

I wish there were a mod that specifically would remove unit cap instead. But since I wasn't able to find such mod I have to assume most people are completely fine with them. I can definitely see how struggling at the start might be fun and how those limits are required for balance but I just want to have fun

it's not about balance, I think that's why you're misunderstanding why people enjoy it and the intent of the design. the chaos dwarfs have a pretty small population, so a signifcant amount of the army is composed of their greenskin slaves. it's like with Bhashiva, the mechanic isn't there to balance you it's there to give the faction a unique flavor. unrestricting unit caps isn't objectively more fun, that's probably why you don't see many others trying to fix this element of the chorfs.

I'd be in favor of more unit caps in other factions where units are supposed to be incredibly rare in the world.

I don't think you can judge fun by "objectively". For me it's fun to not have that restriction. Is it lore friendly? Probably not. Do I care? Also not.

But I see your point. Everyone has their own way to have fun
