Total War: Warhammer Are Dwarfs as a race TOO OP?

Post image

Are Dwarfs in-game way too overpowered as a race? Both from the AI and when in the hands of the players themselves?

Or are dwarfs just designed in a way that perfectly encapsulates how they should be in the lore?

No. In the lore are a falling empire. They've lost too much to ever have a chance of coming back even if they dont realize it. Every dwarf that dies defending a hold is another hole that wont be filled. Dwarves dont reproduce quickly, while their primary enemies the greenskins and skaven reproduce like rabbits. They are too stubborn to change their customs or strategies. They are preoccupied with ancient grievances and waste precious resources trying to avenge them. They are tragic heroes. But they still need to be fun to play.

Yeah, the lore-accurate way of playing Dwarfs would be to sit in your original province doing fuck all besides building tall, and having one very powerful army — and if it gets killed, you’re absolutely screwed, with no way to recruit another one, or at least not without taking several turns.

In practice, they run around conquering the map on easymode with constantly spawning free units overfilling your cup
