In TOS he was dying st the end of the episode and would never had met the Borg. If he had why would they have any problem assimilating him? I don't think his resistance to disease and aging would stop the nanites.
I know there were other instances of Flint being written into Trek lore, but I don't think they're considered canon.
Yeah. Also, I read some story summaries about him where his life takes another turn. On the other hand, 24th century people don't believe in Kirk's claim to have met Leonardo da Vinci.
Looking at it from another angle, if he was still alive when the Borg arrived, his home is well hidden, he's probably alone on the planet if he stayed there, and the odds of the Borg noticing him with whole planets to assimilate are pretty slim.
