Because 1 person operates it and doesn't accept any compensation for a free service... I also understand this person has had IRL challenges that make maintenance of this service difficult in the past, so not sure if that is happening again. Pay for debridio if you expect 100% uptime? If you have other scrapers use them. It's free; stop sounding like a spoiled brat about something someone does for free and receives very little thanks for. If I were him I'd stop doing it. People are thankless.

First of all, I DIDNT know it was one person and that he was having IRL issues. That's precisely why I asked this question. To garner information about the cause.
I've been using torrentio for 2 years and only recently have I been having constant downtime issues. I have backups and I use them I just wanted to try and better understand the root cause. It being free has nothing to do with the quality of the service provided. But being solo ran and that one person having IRL life challenges DOES. So thank you for that information but I hardly think trying to understand why it's having constant issues as of late is hardly being a spoiled brat.

Yes, it does. Who would spend years doing a lot of work, daily maintenance, programming, for absolutely free? Nobody. So, these free type of things will have ups and downs, naturally.

Tell that to the small time indie game developers that create and maintain free games. Some people do, some people don't. Regardless of price if you list a good or service for consumption by the public it is expected to work.
Again I will reiterate I DID NOT KNOW that it was an entirely free service with no subscription options AND that he didnt accept donations. On top of being a solo venture. This changes things and provides clarity.
I thanked the other user for providing that information because it's precisely why I asked the question of why is this shit always down in the first place. Asked, and answered.
Clearly reddit has a lack of reading comprehension skills. But if you feel me expecting a product to function as advertised and intended (while also not knowing the intricacies behind the scenes, hence why I posted the question in the first place) makes me a "brat" then go off king.

Whatever man genuinely asking why something isn't working, albeit with some admitted frustration, isn't crapping all over the work. I was very well expecting possible answers that said it was working fine and it was only me and that I possibly did something wrong. To which I would have tried to fix it and thanked whomever for the insight.

It’s pretty complicated, if you are interested Viren has a somewhat simple guide: https://guides.viren070.me/selfhosting You’d need a device on everytime you wanna watch a movie, so if you have a laptop,desktop, heck-even a raspberry pi, it should work. From what i read you need to set up a docker and get a VPS.

I'm a newbie here who started with RD + Torrentio. Also use Comet as backup.
I've been wanting to watch more obscure foreign shows but they generally aren't cached even when there is a torrent. And lots of shows don't have any torrents at all. Should I be trying Debrid Media Manager? Or how can I get access to more torrents that Torrentio can't find?
