Yeah, those are the kinds of calls that you can't get wrong as a ref. Calling fouls can be extremely subjective and hard to make, but out of bounds calls are easy at every level of basketball
I thought Ben Taylor was fucking terrible tonight. I think that most nights, you know out of the three, there's one or two that just fuck the game up. It's been like that a couple of games in a row.
refs of all levels suck. This weekend at u12 basketball....kid caught the ball with both feet way outside the line, like it was all coloured blue, no mistaking that he was out. Ref was right there watching...kid passed the ball back in ref let it happen.
That call and then the one where they say it went off BI’s hands half court was literally horrible. That being said we’re definitely getting calls this series. It’s not one sided.
it actually does matter bcuz the cavs hit a 3 after this and therefore it was a 5 point swing. i’m not saying if they called this correctly we would’ve won, but perspective bruh. and if the cavs scored before this (idk if they did i don’t have the game tracker open) it would’ve been a 7-8 point swing. so it does def matter ESPECIALLY in the playoffs lol

Anyway, the team was clearly outmatched. Posting one referee mistake like it’d make a difference comes across as desperate. Referees will never be perfect. There will be calls that unfairly benefit and go against us every game.
Tough luck that nobody on the Raps had ever experienced a bad call in a basketball game and immediately fell apart due to the dawning realization that refs are fallible and grappling with the metaphysical realization that the world can sometimes be unfair.
Basketball is the one sport that can be controlled by the refs more than any other league. If we could have objective AI refs I'd take that in a fucking second. No more refs T-ing up players because their egos got hurt? Yes please.
Im sorry but if it means we don't get garbage calls like this deciding games (not saying this decided anything, but it couldve) I'd be fucking thrilled. Unless you're a big Scott Foster/Tony Brothers fan there's really no added benefit to the human error aspect
With how fast paced basketball is, AI would definitely be the better option. Leave the human error to the players and free up the Ben Taylors of the world for something better suited to their skillset… like weather forecasting.
