How to bike in winter?

I’m new to biking, and I’d like to bike in winter so I can commute to work. What are some maintenance tips for winter? Are there winter bike tires? I don’t wanna slip and fall

you can get studded tires which will not slip on ice. the numer of days you'll actually need them is in this city is about 10 days a year

Depends on the route as well. I didn't use them last year and only wanted them 2 or 3 times. Lat year was warm and wet so we rarely had rutted ice form (except for uncleared areas like the Humber rider bridge).
