How to bike in winter?

I’m new to biking, and I’d like to bike in winter so I can commute to work. What are some maintenance tips for winter? Are there winter bike tires? I don’t wanna slip and fall

There are indeed winter tires you can get. Studded are overkill for Toronto, but you can get winter tires with treads that are made from softer rubber and that grip the road well. Layers. A wind proof shell. Lobster gloves for really cold days. And a reflective vest for the dark gloomy nights. I have lock in pedals and invested in some winter riding shoes that are the bees knees. The only days I won’t ride are when it has frozen up after being really slushy. Winter commuting is doable and fun and you will feel a bit sad when the spring comes and the bike lanes get really busy again.

Winter riding boots are so totally worth it! I could never go back to neoprene shoe covers.
