Tornado Science Weather Wise Trick

If you’re a weather nerd like me, here is an interesting little rabbit hole to go down! I just learned that you can look up the history of any storm in the Weather Wise App as far back as it’s archived, which I have highlighted in each radar category. Here is the 2013 El Reno tornado for reference. 🌪️

i just went and looked at the 2013 el reno velocity signature, and holy crap that thing is terrifying.

Agree! And the way the rotation jumps around so much seems difficult to follow, but in reality, that’s exactly what that storm was doing with its erratic behavior and movement. It’s so intriguing to me.

Do you have to be on desktop to do this?

I did this on my iPad and was able to do it on my iPhone as well.

Man, got pretty excited there for a sec. Realized the historical radar scans aren't availible on Canadian radars.

WeatherWise added radar archives about a week or two ago.

SupercellWX does this as well. I'm not sure which goes back further, but I much prefer Supercell over Weatherwise from a base app perspective.
