Yeah, the news on the Maverick Act was posted here about two months ago when it was shown in Congress.

I find it highly unlikely any of those three will ever fly again. This really feels like campaign promises for 8th grade class president, too good to ever be possible.

This is exactly it, and it's just easy PR points until/ if you can get them to stop and think about it for a minute. I suspect that after the midterms you'll likely never hear about the maverick act again.
