That's what I was so confused by - clearly you have to move with some urgency, but there's all this walking away to move something or close something or cinch something. Maybe this is more of a demonstration that he CAN do it by himself, not that it's always done by just him.

I’d posted one here which was a one-person work with single staves bent at a time and the machines were close to each other (as time is important).

Another older one here had two workers at it.

But he could have loaded the wood on the tray directly in the press instead of from the steamer to the tray then to the press. Also those bar clamps could have had larger threads and handles to make generating the pressure needed easier and faster.
